Sir/madam,

You may have a stuck turn-signal switch (located in your steering column), a faulty hazard flasher unit (located behind your dash, above your radio), there is even a possible that your relay is stuck. The relay is located in your main fuse box, near your battery. The turn-signal circuit is controlled by the tail light relay. Your fuse box cover should identify which relay is used for the tail lights. If you are unable to test these circuits yourself, you shoould have a qualified mechanic inspect them for you.
Good luck!

Ok..,,,when you drive, moving straight then turn right...does it internally click and shut off??
can you use it (the signaling arm) normally for turning right?..that is..pull up and have rt blinkers work and then to center to shut off right blinkers?..also do you have tilt and does this problem go away if you change the angle of the steering wheel ?
if soo..then yes the blinker accuactor tab is broken inside the column and must be replaced ..the turn signal cam also inside the stering column should be replaced also as it is plastic and you are there anyway..( it is not too expensive)

Turn signal

the signal fuse is in the fuse panel under the dash to the left of the steering colume. and the signal flasher is under the dash same side as the fuse panel and is a square or round looking unit with a 3 wire plug connected to it. make sure you have the signal flasher and not the emergency flasher as they look the same. to know turn on the e-flashers when your think you`ve found the signal flasher, if you have the signal flasher you won`t feel it ticking .

Why does my turning signal only work sometimes?

first lets check each left light for operation using the emergency flashers.. see which one may be malfuntionig and fix it first..if all work fine then its a switch problem which is in the upper steering column area behind the steering wheel..if you dont feel comfortable repairing it yourself, its a job foe an electrical shop(dealer cost is very high) it sounds like the posibility exsists that the switch may be worn or broken inside.. steering wheel must be removed to address the issue on most models good luck...

How do I change the Flasher on a 2000 Mercury Mystique and where can I buy one?

The turn signal flasher for a 2000 Mercury Mystique is located at the top of the steering column on the back of the multifunction switch. It plugs into terminals 31, 49 and 49A shown in the picture below.

You can get to it by removing the screws and taking the steering column shroud off.

The place to buy one would be at an auto parts store. (Just pick one...they should all have it.)

Turn signal not working

Welcome to Fixya

If bulbs are ok then the problem could be the turn signal flasher. You might need to check that one. It is located on the right hand side of steering column under the dash.Facing the steering wheel. If you can pull radio out with ease, the flasher is located to the left of opening and it's on a bracket but can pop out without removing.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Fix a flasher

Replacement The turn signal flasher is located under the dash either to the left or right of the steering column on most models. The lower dash panel may have to be removed to gain access to the unit. The hazard flasher is located in the fuse block. On 1980 and later models, both the turn signal flasher and the hazard flasher are located at the lower left hand and the upper right hand corners of the fuse block respectively. Remove these by pulling them from their connectors.

The flashers are located behind the instrument panel trim, roughly between the base of the steering wheel and the ashtray, just to the left of the car lighter. To access the flashers, you need to at least loosen the lower instrument panel trim. Just under the steering column there are two screws with star heads. One to the left of the column and one to the right. You need to remove both of these screws. You will need to remove your ashtray. On the upper left corner of the hole left by removing the ashtray is a 9/32 hex head screw. You need to remove it. Once these three screws are removed you should be able to pull down on this portion of trim under your instrument cluster. When you do this it may cause trim around your instrument cluster to loosen that you can just pop back into place with your hand. You won't need to pull down to far on this trim piece as there are still some screws holding the bottom. You should be able to pull it down far enough to see the flasher units behind and just to the left of the cigarette lighter. There are two flasher units and I found that the one on the right is for the turn signals. On the left the other is for the hazard flashers. It may be a hand scraping experience to replace the flasher but it beats paying someone to do it for you. They are easy to recognize because the are silver and round metallic plug ins. The flasher unit on the left is for the emergency flashers and the one on the right is for turn signals. You can place the emergency flasher unit into the slot the turn signal unit belongs until you get a replacement. These flasher units are pretty cheap.

No brake lights of blinkers 1990 dodge dynasty

While not likely, it is possible that the light bulbs in both sides are have bad filaments. Turn on ignition key (but don't start engine). Then turn on parking lamps (first detent or "click" on headlamp switch). Walk around car and look for illumination on front parking lamps and rear tail lights. Turn on the right turn signal. Are those (right hand) lamps now changing brilliance? Try the left turn signal in the same manner. Are those (left hand) front and rear lights changing briiliance? Take note of any positions that did NOT change briliance when the turn signals were activated. If NONE changed briliance, you either have a bunch of bad bulbs (unlikely) or a bad flasher (more likely) or a bad turn signal switch (most likely) or perhaps wiring problems (possible if the car has been in a collision or has been "worked on" by some "non-expert" mechanic). Check the action of the emergency flasher control switch located on the steering column (facing up). Pushing it in (down) should result in the button going to two different heights alternately (low, high, low, high). You could just have bad flashers or corroded flasher contacts! Good luck!

Turn Signal Flasher

What do you mean? Its the same as most cars. The left hand bar on the steering wheel. If u mean the signal lights on your dash, there should be one left of your speedometer for left signal and one on right of it for right signal unless yours aren't working for some reason.
