Hey man i got another problem wondering if you could help me out..i did
everything u said i even pulled the censor out and was very careful
with it but the problem still occurs the light went off and everything
but as soon as we stopped the car and started back up
again it felt like the brakes kicked in on its own and then it turned
the abs lights and traction control on ... it felt like it was rubbing
or something we prayed it out made sure there was no grease at all on
it... thanks again

Re: haha help me again
This part scares me...."it felt like the brakes kicked in on its own
and then it turned the abs
lights and traction control on ... it felt like it was rubbing or
something"........there must be a mechanical problem here..geometry of
brake parts /rotor etc...everything you disturbed when changing out the
axle needs to be VERy carefully inspected ...we are dealing with safety
issues here now not just a light...look at the side that was not
done..and move back to see how it looks on the side you did..something
is not the same and we must find it before you take this thing out on
the road again

Get it to a shop you may have a power steering censor leak. If your handy read on.. Check the fluid level if it's low don't add more change the censor first then refill. The issue is the fluid travels through the censor into your wiring harness to your computer and other censors shorting everything out. If your fluid is low pull the censor wire off it's next to the fill tank on the pipe connected to it, if you see fluid in that wire bring this truck to Dodge. Or as I said before if your handy and you suspect this is the case, wright back and I'll give you a call and walk you through this. This is a common serious problem the can destroy your computer and possibly you engine. It can be fixed for under a hundred dollors.
Haha no prob man. Just try following those steps, to tell you the truth most of my automotive backgound is based off my lifted jeep cherokee...my gf's car is the first import i've even cared to look at (with everything being so crammed together)...but if some 20 year old punk kid can do it, im sure you can too. Let me know how it turns out, I'm really interested to find out if this is way more of a common prob. then I thought. Cheers, Ed
you know. i took it to a mechanic and actually.... The timing belt cut the Crank Shaft Censor... So it was the crank shaft censor again. The wires were routed wrong from the first mechanic that "fixed" the car.
I too own a dodge spirit. When I am driving and the a/c kicks in It gives that feeling you describe. Try it without the a/c on..and defrost off and see if it goes away. Is it a pull back and then go again or a steady pull back at that speed or throttle position?
Oxygen sensors also have a great effect on this car. Throttle position sensors are another thing that can cause this, and of course if you have a bad wire or spark plug that too will do it.gary
