Hi, Check the solenoid on or near the starter. I have a feeling that it is bad. Replace it.
You could be right that the starter is at fault too. Clean all connections before installing new parts. Check and/or replace. Good luck

My jeep wont start It use to turn on and just shut off after a couple hrs of driving but now i cant get it off my drive way the lights and radio turn on when i try too start it but the car wont even crank...

the starter sounds like ur problem for starting the jeep since u changed the battery the computer really did not have to be changed and for the car only running for a couple hrs u might have a clog in ur fuel filter located by the gas tank under the car very easy to change once u locate it. it doe not sound like ur fuel pump cause the car does run for a couple of hours if it was the fuel pump problem it would not even run for more then 10 mins if that.

1991 firebird turns over slow, but always starts.

If the battery is in good condition, good connections and passes a load test, the starter may be bad. But be sure the connections and the grounds are good.

charge the battery, then put a volt meter on battery before you start it and note the voltage, then start the car and check the voltage while its running..if its less then 13-13.5 then its not charging...if it seems to be charging, take it to your local parts store and have them load test the battery after its been fully charged

you may want to check and see that the battery meets the cars minimal cca and ca requirements you may just need more cranking amps a.k.a bigger battery not dimension wise but amp wise.
