This is a very detailed process as the removal of an entire dash in any car would be. I suggest you go to your nearest auto zone, oriely or other auto parts store and purchases a chiltons repair manual. They are normally under $25.00 and with all that they cover ( dash removal as well ) they are worth their weight in gold. The exploded pics and step by step procedures is an aid that you will for sure need to have in front of you for this kind of procedure.

How do I remove a power booster from a 97 GMC Jimmy
Un bolt master cylinder and pull forward and to side without disconnecting any lines. Get up under dash and disconnect linkage to front of booster pushrod (This can be tricky and hard on the neck and headbone). Remove vacuum check valve from booster, remove 4 nuts holding booster in place and remove unit. Installation is reverse steps.

I need to take the dash out of my 1997 Gmc jimmy to replace the heater core
What is you question pertaining to the heater core..?...You do not have to remove the complete dash...It is on passenger side up under...just remove plastic covers....(small screws,clips) the main thing that holds it is the hose's...But you seem to know ?? I have a 99 GMC Jimmy,4wd,4.3L,with climate control. I cannot switch mode on heat/ac,it constantly blow warm/hot air,also can hear a "clicking" sound behind dash,was told this a a "blend door motor"...
yes there is a procedure,but no short cut in removal of dash board.but my advised is that pleased contact a perfect electrician to remove it safely because of the electrical wires.

1998 GMC Jimmy hood release cable broken
Remove the cable from the latch and any hold downs or clamps. Push the rubber gromet through the fire wall into the car. Remove the handel assy. and pull
the cable assy.out through the fire wall. Now, if the
gromet can be removed. You can decide if you wan't
to put it back from under the dash, or under the hood.
Whatever is easiest for you, but if it can't, it has to go
back from under the dash. Hope this helps.

How do I remove the dash board to access the thermostat? Heating won't shutdown...A/C doesn't come on. 2000 Jimmy.
on the edges of the dash are a series of hidden clips, use a small screw driver or plastic scraper (better) to pry the dash pieces up and loosen them from the clips. I assume you are just taking the face off and not the top of the dash. You want to stay away from the areas that house the airbags.

1998 Jimmy-heater core
Heater core is located under the dash board, as Jenkins said you need to remove the dash board amd all other panel to access it, you will have to spend at least 2 hours to remove them if you're not familiar with it, becareful not to break plastic locks and tabs. Get your self a service manual for your car and it will be a great help.

yes you have to remove the whole dash assambly to replace the heater core..have fun i had to do mine twice.my new heater core lasted about 6 months.
