04 cayenne transmission rebuilt but car does not move on drive or reverse

There are several possible causes of this issue. The first thing to do is to check if the transmission fluid is low. If the fluid level is low, it can indicate a leak or a problem within the transmission itself. You should also check the fluid pressure as well as the condition of the transmission filter and fluid. If the filter is clogged or if the fluid is contaminated or excessively worn, this could cause the transmission to not shift properly. It is also possible that the transmission linkage or the shift cable may be damaged or disconnected. Make sure to check the shift cable and linkage for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. If all of the above checks out, then it is possible that the transmission needs to be serviced or rebuilt.

Check transmission oil level and quality. Do you service it regularly?

Chances are you have a costly one.
My 2004 automatic lost its top range, and I had to drive to a transmission shop in a lower gear. It would have cost about half the price of a rebuilt transmission to fix the immediate problem, so I opted for the replacement with full warranty.

In any event, if it is an automatic, don't attempt to repair it yourself.

common problem for the dodge, you have a bad or broken reverse band in the transmission, the transmission will have to be removed and rebuilt or replaced, check with your local salvage yard for a good used one could save you several hundred dollars.....GOOD LUCK

check under truck drivers side at transmission linkage may need an adjustment or is binding--

sounds like the revese clutch is broken. a rebuild or used transmission is your only choices
