Question about 1991 Honda Civic
My 91 civic lx wont start the i was told it was the main relay so i bought a new one and replaced the old one...the battery is brand new too...the car turns over but does not start...i hear the 3 clicks when i turn the key but i wont start...i dont know what else it would be none of the fuses are blown and i am getting fuel through the gas lines and through the filters...it just wont start...and the spark plugs are fine i amd getting spark but nothing else will happen it only turns over
Do you hear fuel pump turn on? Turn the key to the start, but not all the way, you should here it hum. I have a 91 hatchback and it's right under the backseat. If you hear it, it could be your computer. My car would turn, crank, fuel pump. I finally swapped it w/a friends and it started up just fine. It's still going too. Hope it helps.

If you are getting spark to the plugs, (and assuming nothing has happened to screw up the timing of the spark), the only thing that would cause the car not to start is that you are not getting fuel into the cylinders. You can check this by squirting some ether into the air intake of the engine. You can get some start spray at an auto parts store.

1991 Honda civic 4cyl stick, won't start, turns over but sounds like when starter is engaged no compression to start. Could it be the timing belt?
