Question about 1999 Subaru Forester
I own a '99 Subaru Forester L. One day the clock located by the rear view mirror just stopped functioning. I checked all fuses and they are fine. What must be the problem? I need your expert assistance. Thanks.
There are some 1W surface mount resistors on the circuit board for this clock. Two are labeled 300 and one is labeled 510. One or more of the solder joints for these resistors has cracked. This is a known manufacturing defect. Re-solder the ends of these resistors and the clock will work fine.
