Question about 1997 Volkswagen Jetta

My 1997 Jetta shakes at 40MPH or Higher

I have a 19997 VW Jetta GLS it just started to shake once I hit 40 MPH I checked my suspension and tire balance everything looks good, I did notice that when the car is running at 40MPH or higher it shakes but if I press on the clutch in the car stops shaking I let go of the clutch and it starts again not sure if it’s the clutch that is bad or maybe the transmission has anyone have had this problem. I have never had a problem like this that the car stops to shake when I press down on the clutch. I had a car that started to shake like this but it was the balance on the tires but on this cars that’s not the problem hope someone has an answer.

sounds like the fuel pressure regulator but first try new fuel filter and maybe clean spark plugs and reset them

What condition are your tires in ? hit anything lately ? curb , pot hole ? Have your tires checked an balanced ! An have a alignment check done ! Also check for a sticking caliper ! worn suspension parts , control are bushings !

My 1989 Chevey Celebrity started shaking the other day the front part of the car, not like the front end is messed up but it shakes.

Could be a wheel, tire, or axle shaft.
You could rotate the tires front to back and see if the vibration moves.
If it does the problem is one of the tires or wheels.
If it stays in the front, its probably one of the axle shafts. It could also be a hub bearing or something loose in the suspension. But a loose suspension part would normally show up when you hit a bump rather than on a smooth road.

2001 chrysler town country shakes running at 40mph but stops shaking when it reaches 60mph

Could be a tire out of balance, a drive axle, or something in the engine.
Is the check engine light on ?
Would it shake if you were coasting down a hill at 40 or 50 mph ?

I have a 97 gmc sierra 1500 4x4, it runs very nice the only thing is when i reach 40 mph, there is a slight vibration or shake. it seems to only happen between 40-45 mph, it runs perfect before 40mph and...

There are several things to consider, first I would check the tire balance. Then I would go to the front alignment. If you have trouble on one side or the other you may just have a bad tire.

A few possibilities.... bent rim, broken steel belt in tire, or a wheel weight that keeps the tire/wheel combination in balance has fallen off. Not sure how big the bump was, so other options would be suspension related. I would check the tire and/or wheel first.

At 40 mph the car starts to shake. It last to 5o

I have this same car with exactly the same problem. Begins shaking at 40mph and stops shaking as soon as you let off the gas, but then begins again as soon as you press on the gas and smooths out as you get over 50. And the shaking is not felt through the steering wheel. Solution: Replace the transmission mounts. There are two of them, one on each side mounted on the frame right next to the shock strut. There is also a front and rear engine mount, but I replaced the two as described and shaking is gone.

Get your tires checked out, you may have a seperated tire, or may need to get the balanced checked. and check your air pressure. then while your at the shop get your suspension checked out. while its up in the air.
