My car is going crazy!!! i have no clue where to start...

I have so many problems with this car right now..i know it needs new ball joints...thats a given..but can someone answer me this...what would make a car rev up to 70 - 80 mph in an idle position and then stall out *not all the time just most of the time* this morning i backed up after letting my car warm up a little and it stalled out in the middle of the street. so i put it in park, turned it off and then started it again...thats when it started reving i revved it up a little myself b/c my fiance claims it helps *and it does sometimes but not this morning* it didnt stop revving up so i just put it in drive and it refused to i put it in park again and played around some more and then when i put it in drive again it moved slowly *like really slow* and then when fine...i have no clue what so ever as to why my car is doing me this way....i looked at the car fax report and say that it had a new transmission put in it awhile back and its only been in a rear passenger accident *which you cant tell* i dont know if that info helps but there it is* i just want to know what all i can do and if there really is a website that basically shows you how to fix it...i love my car but i might have to get rid of it if it keeps playing me...plz help!!!

Sounds like your car is not going in gear correctly. is the check engine light on? transmissson( speed senors) are known for going in these cars and it can feel like your transmission is going b/c it slams in gear and and stick in second( this is a saftey feature to prevent damage. When mine sensor went in my 99 breeze I knew something was up, it reved funny and slammed in drive but when I let my foot off the brake it moved very slow compared to normal so i knew something was up. If not sound like its getting too much fuel.. problem with your throttle maybe?

How to replace ball joints

remove wheel, unbolt steering track rod, unbolt the ball joints ,you will need some sort of joint splitter ,this is a metal forked wedge that you hammer between the joint and chassis when replacing new joint you will need to use a jack under new joint to apply some pressure so that when you tighten the nut then ball joint does'nt spin round and not tighten, make sure you know the torque for the nuts as over tightening can cause joint to fail in some way this is important to get right

93 chevy g20 have speedometer cable

The speedometer cable should not have anything to do with changing the ball joint. it goes directly to the transmission on a 93. your grinding sounds like either someone didn't get the bearing back in the hub right or loose bolts on the wheel ..

1998 jeep cherokee sport front end clunk when turning left

This could be almost any front end part, these Cherokees have front end problems that will drive anyone crazy, even techs .
Take a look at front end components, check for any broken sway bar link ends, these sometimes break and make noise when turning or going over a bump, they hit other components due to being broken.
The first thing is to check the front end. there are upper and lower are bushings that wear out, these are tough to check, you will need to really take a good look at them for wear. the next thing is the track bar, this is also hard to check due to the force on it, but you will need to check it by watching it for movement at the joint end as someone jacks truck up and lowers it.These trucks are also famous for ball joint problems, you will need to check them. jack up one side about 4 inches off the ground and with your hands grab the top and bottom of the tire and wiggle tire hard to check for movement in ball joint, if there is play then replace them. upper and lower, if there is no play then slide bar under the tire and pull up and and down this will apply and release pressure , this will allow you to check for play in the ball joint. you will feel and see movement in ball joint, have someone watch the ball joint as you pry on tire.
this is a start, good day.

Ball joint is about to fall off replace lower ball joint right side 2000 accent

OK< ball joints, they are sometimes bolted on, I hope yours is, you have to get in there to see, But you will also need the parts first, when you buy the ball joint, you will know what you got, either welded to the arm or bolted, then you can take off the arm or the ball joint. Either way, it should be no problem getting the thing off, get the car up, wheel off, don't get your legs under there, get dirty, and you might need another bottle jack to lift up the arm to get the bolts on. Check it out. Hope this helps.

99 dodge durango needs ball joints

Well if you get an alignment after you put the new ones in you should be alright. As far as these new ball joints they probably just come pre-pressed on the arms and if thats the case then you will have to mess with the coil springs in which case you will need a special tool and you will have to align it all just right or you will have problems later on, i would just stick with the unpressed ball joints also make sure u have something to press them with like a heavy duty vise or a press itself don't use a hammer cause this will damage them.
