My 1993 Buick Regal turns over strong but will not fire or start. What could be the problem?

Had new fuel filter put in and new battery. Ran fine for a while but now (again) is turning over strong but will not fire to start. What could be wrong? I am a disabled woman and cannot afford to put it in a shop to have it totally checked out.

It has a new fuel pump and fuel filter. The car will start fine for days then all of a sudden it will not start.

SOURCE: 1991 Buick Regal will not start

Chech to see if you're gettin a signal from the crankshaft position sensor located behind the crank pulley. If no signal, you have either a bad sensor or a bad crank pulley. There is a reluctor ring on the pulley that separates and goes bad. If you have a good square wave signal from the the crank sensor it's probably going to be the computer. I've replaced a lot of them. They do really wierd things when they start to go. Check all of your grounds first. Also, while the car is running, shake and pull on the wiring harnesses for the computer. I've seen on a few cars where a wire or 2 will go bad and cause and occational short.

SOURCE: 2003 Buick Regal Service Engine Soon light.

The error that I'm showing for error code P1133 is
P1133 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) insufficient switching bank 1 sensor 1(Rear Bank).  I would suggest having both of your Oxygen Sensors replaced if you haven't already had that done.  Hope this helps.  Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa.

Car was parked and running and just killed on its own and will not start. does this sound like the fuel pump or maybe fuel filter?

If the battery is strong and charged, starter is fine, car ran okay while getting progressively worse until it died and won't restart now, might be fuel filter or pump. I've dealt with two cars with fuel filter issues. Both would idle fine, but run progessively worse under load and eventually die and not start although everything else checked out. Engine turned fast enought to start, battery strong, alternator fine, air cleaner clean, all that. No start. Changed fuel filters and done. Everything back to normal. Both cars were about model year 1990 (1989 and 1991). Replaced one in a parking lot and car fired right back up and powered on home just fine, whereas the week leading up to it it ran worse and worse, hesitated on acceleration and finally would die if you hit the gas. Fuel filter may be in engine compartment. Looks like a canister with an in and an out for fuel. Pump is in gas tank and is way more work and money. Good luck, hope this helps.

1999 Buick Regal GSX won't stay running......

It's probably the mass airflow sensor and/or oxygen sensors.

Has problem with securty system and other problems

mcdevito75 here, It"s possible the alrm system and the back fireing are associated, specially if the alarm (security system) is factory (built with the car) BEST BET have an auto alarm shop take a look, most auto shops that do glass, windshield, doors etc. also handle alarms.

1993 Buick Regal

Test your fuel pressure, make sure it is the right pressure and test the fuel volume.make sure its getting the right amount of fuel. if it checks out ok you need to put the car on a diagnostic machine. you may have a signal problem that requires a lab scope.

2000 buick regal hard to start

if this car is been sitting, the battery might be low or dead, but if not,
then,
you know your question confuse me a little be, because if your car won't turn, that has nothing to do with the filter, but if the car crank but wont start then it migh be a bad fuel pump, the way to fin that is, by aplying some flamable brake or carburetor cleaner to the intake, then if the car starts or try to, most likelly your fuel pump is gone.
