Question about 2002 Chrysler 300M
CHANGED THE PLUGS ON MY WIFES 2002 300M (HIGH-OUTPUT ENGINE) AND FOUND OIL IN THE TUBE ON THE LEFT BANK FACING THE FRONT, ON THE REAR CYLINDER. PULLED THE PLUG OUT, AND IT WAS COVERED WITH OIL. LOOKED DOWN THE TUBE AND THERE WAS OIL IN IT AT THE BOTTOM. I'M SURE IT DRAINED OUT WHEN I REMOVED THE PLUG AND RAN ALL OVER THE PLUG, BUT HOW DID OIL GET INTO THE TUBE. THIS CAR DOESN'T BURN OIL AND I'VE NEVER NOTICED IT BEING LOW ON OIL BETWEEN CHANGES.
Sounds like one of two things. One is it has had oil spilled while adding oil and it has ran down into the chamber by gravity. The other is a leaking valve cover gasket.
