What are you the fixit police? do this for fun this is not a business or my source of income, 99% of my solutions are to the point and nothing else, every once in awhile I read a question where I can't help be a little bit of a prankstirer, give it a rest, and 88% sure as hell beats your 80%, and I have run a dealership repair shop ( 30 years in the trade), and a shop of my own, so once again give it a rest and mind your own business my friend. I notice you didn't call so I guess you are not that upset. Give Lauren a ring about me, really don't care what you do, you are a jerko that is for sure, or a uptight SOB.

COMMENT FROM A CUSTOMER:

thanx for your advice. I took out the ICV (IDLE CONROL VALVE) and gave it a thorough cleaning, put it back in and sprayed half a can of intake cleaner through it running. The car starts much better and has way more pep off the line. It took me about an hour and cost under 10 bucks. I'm sure it would have cost hundreds at the stealership

Do you ever fricking answer a ? I posted the hammer question over a week ago. If this. Is your rate of answer frick it, this site sucks

Richard. This site is "manned" with volunteers for answering questions. Every one has his / her speciality. I invest some hours, to see if I can help anyone. I do have to skip the questions I can't answer. My knowledge is in electronics, photography and a little less about cars and engines. Mechanical tools are not in my knowledge base, so I skip those.
It could be last week no one with the right knowledge to answer noticed your question. You did not have the luck to get an answer. Lots of people do get an answer, and I know as soon as they get a good answer they are pleased. Lots of people thanked me for my answers. These "thank you Harrie" is everything I answer for. I understand you are disappointed your question was not answered, and I can't answer it, because I don't know enough about drill hammers. But is that a reason to give an opinion like this?
I could understand your reaction, if you had payed for an answer and nothing was delivered. But it hurts me to read your question here. This is everything I want to say.
Sorry.

Why is it that not one of these questions have been answered, not even a comment or a guess. Its really frustrating & annoying when ya trying to fix something or work out a problem. So what site can we go...

Try google. Or do your own research. Half the problem with answering questions here is that people are rude or unclear. Or just plain ungrateful. I can't abide bad manners.

Why are you people not answering my question

The website foxy, tries to help people with technical problems. Sometimes just a little hint, can help people to use their device, without them going to a repair shop. The question you asked would be better of in a discussion group or forum about the environment. Or perhaps even Google could give enough hints, to find your answer. This question was posted between cars and trucks, where people can tell you all about tire pressure and carburettors, but will skip all other questions.
You know, when I put a technical question in a discussion forum about the greenhouse effect I probably won't get an answer. Does that mean the discussion group sucks?
But before I enter a website I do try to find out what I can on the site, and more what I can't. Also what I can expect and what not.

So please try your questions on other sites and who knows you find an answer.

B.t.w. most discussion groups will remove all off topic questions and answers, without notice.

How do I reset a 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid after a crash?

Hey Guy, We have a good number of questions to answer and yours has just come up! I'm happy you've found your answer but instead of criticising us why don't you do something useful and share what you've learned. That is what FixYa is all about! John

Why is FixYa such a worthless website for getting solutions?

Fixya is a site based on helping others. You post a question, and if somebody knows the answer, they can help you out. Just because you ask, doesn't mean that somebody will always know the answer. Try posting at different times of the day when different people are active. Be descriptive in your question. "my car doesn't start" is not a descriptive question and the answer is hard to pinpoint. Most experts will avoid answering. Everybody is good at something and is considered an "expert" on here at that specific thing. I tend to answer car stereo questions or some GM car problems. Others might know alot about refrigerators or blenders. Be patient and descriptive. Post your question in the correct format a few times a day, and if somebody can help, I'm sure they will.

There is a filter on the mazda tribute tranmission please tell me where it is or be man enough to say I just dont care enough to find out. be specific and dont say that a part that is readily availble on...

If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, the transmission filter is inside of the transmission. You have to remove the transmission pan to access the filter. It is usually 14 bolts that hold it on. While taking the pan off, transmission fluid will spill everywhere, make sure to use a large bucket. When the pan is off, the filter just pops off. After replacing the filter, make sure to replace the gasket that goes between the transmission housing, and the transmission pan.
I hope this helps, if you have any more questions please email me

Hey, you seem very knowledgeable.

Thank you for your request. It is funny you should ask that. I stumbled on to Fixya about a month ago while looking for an answer for a problem and while looking at someone's question I thought "Heck! I know what's wrong with this person's problem" and so on an impulse, I signed up and answered his question (right at this point, I can't remember if I helped that first person or not! must be getting old!). If you are really looking to make money off the site, sign on alot and always list yourself as avaible and answer the questions that will make you money, but be aware that those questions get droves of answers so you have to be quick on the draw. I must admit I must be touched in the head because I like answering questions that relate to the computer field because I work in it for 8+ hours a day. I figure if you can answer a question without being at or around the equipment it will help your mental process when you do have that happen at work. Or lets put it this way, it helps me in my daily work and helps keep it fresh in my mind, your milage may vary. I also try and answer questions that I know I can explain and I try to remember what it was like to know nothing about the questions I'm answering and fashion my answer to help the people who truly don't know, care or understand why the answer works but to give them the information they need to either fix their problem or make an informed decision about how to proceed to fix their problem, The site is pretty straight forward for the most part and isn't hard to learn but remember that is coming from a person who has had a computer since 1984 and hasn't been without a computer since I purchased my first computer. I hope that answers your questions and If I can help again, please ask. It might take me a day or two to answer (sometimes life gets a bit crazy!) but I will answer when I get the chance to.

Once again, thank you for asking, I hope that helps!
