After getting a tow hitch installed my 2002 Santa Fe has not been able to receive FM band signals. Since installing the wiring harness of the tow hitch involved removing the left rear inside panel, I wonder if the FM antenna was somehow detached from its wiring harness. Is that possible Any ideas how to figure out what's wrong?

Take to a trailer hitch specialty shop. (Think of where you would take a pickup truck to - not U-haul or similar). This sounds like a severe safety issue. They will recommend a safe alternative to your current hitch and likely buy it back from you as well (at a loss to you I am sure, but better than killing yourself or others when your boat or jet ski comes zooming past you on the highway.)
Under the vehicle by the tail lights locate the lights wiring and look for this colors.
it's only four colors white-ground point,brown-parking lights,yellow-left side turn signal light and green-right side turn signal.
you are going to need a test light to find the correct wire,if you can't locate the wiring unther the vehicle then remove the tail lights and do the connections there.
