The drivers window suddenly dropped down. The window motor will run but does not raise or lower the window. What is causing this to happen?

I checked the cables, both sides are on and appear to be intact. When I hold either one of them, there is no force being felt when the motor is energized (motor does operate). I have not dissassembled the complete system yet.

If the cable is in place but does not move the motor is operating is the problem with with teethes or gear connected to motor ,It is advisable to change the whole unit to avoid the same problem in the further, but if you can the parts for regulator then you can replace the damaged part.....

    God luck...

How do I put the driver side power window back on track and the door panel for my 2003 Nissan Altima 3.5SE?

R/R the inner door panel, slide the window back on track, reconnect the window transmission to the window, (or reinstall the trans) bolt everything back together (window motor, window trans to door etc.) Make sure the window is in the UP position. use the switch to raise the window & keep it up if all is back together before finally installing the door panel ( make sure the switch & other plugs are plugged in before the door panel is reinstalled.) Lights etc. Good luck

It can be either switch or any of the wiring in between. You have to follow a wiring diagram to test the circuit and this one is a bit complicated.

If the power window motor does not work, you would have to disconnect the motor from the window regulator to move the glass up or down.

1997 Nissan Altima Rear Driver side power Window.

Switch needs to be replaced. Its a common problem and isnt that difficult to replace. Once you get the door panel off, its pretty much unplug the old one and plug those wires into the new one
