Question about 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer
When i park the blazer, i put it in park, with my foot on the brake. then i turn the key off and remove it from the ignition. the motor is still running. when i take my foot off of the brake the motor kills and stays off. what is going on here?
Ignition switch is bad ... you should NOT be able to remove the key while running (safety feature on all US cars since 1970's). Brake switch is hooked into ignition then to shift lever to prevent moving from park unless ke is on and brake is depressed ... your switch (or wiring, but probably switch) is shorted out and/or maybe has mechanical damage (from when the thief tryed to start it with a screwdrive?)
