Question about 2006 Ford Freestar

2006 ford freestar high beams

Has working low beams, but high beams shut off when we try to turn them on. Turn signals won't stay on in low beam position, but work properly in high beam position. Assumed it was multi-function switch and replaced it (and bulbs) but the only thing it fixed was the turn signal problem. It's a company van so parts wear out faster than usual. Any ideas?

Right low beam headlight does not come on but my right turn signal will stay even tho i diddnt turn it on. If I cut on my high beams the rurn signal cuts off. Whats wrong? Helo

It could be the lamp control module !
Headlamps
Battery positive voltage (B+) is applied at all times to the lamp control module (LCM) through the underhood fuse block HDLP fuse.
When you place the headlamp switch in the HEAD position, the headlamps input to the LCM is grounded. The LCM then applies battery positive voltage (B+) through the underhood fuse block HDLOBML fuse and HDLOBMR fuse, which feed the left low beam headlamp and the right low beam headlamp respectively. When you activate the headlamp dimmer switch by pulling on the multifunction lever until the switch clicks, the high beam input circuit to the LCM in grounded . The LCM then removes battery positive voltage (B+) from the low beam headlamps and supplies battery positive voltage (B+) through the underhood fuse block HDHIBML fuse and HDHIBMR fuse, which feed the left high beam headlamp and the right high beam headlamp respectively.
Check this fuse in the left under hood fuse box first. HDLOBMR Fuse 18 10 Amp. RH Low Beam Headlamp . If the fuse is good check for B+ voltage with the low beams on . Use a test light or volt meter . If you look on top of fuse there are two metal tabs ,check there for B+ voltage , If no B+ voltage the LCM - lamp control module isn't supplying any .

2006 buick lacrosse low beams not working high beams only is i hold in the turn signal

this sounds like a bad dimmer switch not functioning. I would first check to make sure the rod that runs from the lever to the dimmer switch is traveling the complete length and is not out of adjustment.

Low beams not working

If the bulbs flash when you unlock the vehicle, then they are likely not the issue. My guess is the relay contacts are dirty. Just because a relay clicks, it doesn't mean that it is passing current through the contacts. Try and swap the relay with another of the exact same part number. There's usually another available...ie the horn relay, fog lamp etc..

HIGH BEAMS COMES ON WHEN USING TURN SIGNAL AND LOW BEAMS ARE ON

Hello, is sounds like your issues are coming from within your turn signal/high-low beam switch. Most of the time the wires get worn or break and start rubbing around on each other causing troubles within the electrical circuit. Other times the contact switches inside the turn signal/high beam switch/lever wear and loose contact over time. You may be able to see wires leading from switch into steering colum. Check for bad wires, if none you may have to replace switch which you can get from any junkyard for bout 5 bucks plus learn how to take it apart in a junk car no one is worried about getting destroyed. BE CAREFULL WITH AIRBAGS when you pull your steering wheel to fix switch. It is not a difficult job to do.

I have a 2002 Buick Rendevzeous. Sometimes the driver side low beam works, sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, the turn signal won't blink. It just stays dimmly lit. Right now, the low beam...

You have a bad electrical connection. Check the wiring harness and both sides of it's connectors for corrosion and or breakage. The connector terminals will become worn and corroded and the wiring sheaths a prone to weathering and become brittle. Replace or clean as needed.
