I am still not sure what you are talking about, but do you mean the clutch pedal went to the floor? if so you will need a new hydraulic clutch master cylinder.

Lost forward gears

You have lost the 1st, 2nd, etc. in DRIVE? If you put the car in SECOND does it move forward a little bit? Put the car in Manual 2nd, can you shift into DRIVE and feel the third gear? This happened to me. The 'forward clutch' needs replacing. The transmission clutch plates in that part are glazed over because the fluid is burned. See if your fluid is brown.

Engine off shifts engine on grinds when putting in gear

The clutch plate can only be fitted one way. If you noticed one side of the plate has a raised section that contains springs. The other side is flat. Puting the plate the wrong way round allows the raised section to hit the heads of the flywheel bolts and this is causing the clutch to spin even though you have the foot on the clutch. Make sure you have properly bled the air from the clutch system. Mostly there is a notice printed on the clutch plate which reads like flywheel side or this side away from flywheel

Clutch issues

This is a hydraulic clutch, meaning you push fluid to make the clutch move just like the brakes.
I would check the clutch master cylinder first to see if it is full of fluid.
The master or slave cylinder could have failed, among other things.
Grinding gears means the clutch disk is not moving.

Car with manual transmition shifts only when engine is off

have you checked the fluid in the clutch master cylinder? make sure there is fluid and the slave cylinder on the transmission is moving the clutch. if it is then the clutch may be worn out and not disengaging the clutch which means the clutch is still turning and you cant put it in gear. hope this helps

Car wont move!

Sounds like the trans input shaft may be broken. If the input shaft, which is connected to the clutch, is not transmitting rotation to the inside of the trans then what you describe will occur.

Transmission problem

Your clutch plate is at the point of giving up totally. Replace it immediately and ensure the level of gear oil is proper. The clutch is responsible for transmitting the power of the engine to the wheels, so the plates must have worn out to the point where it can no longer transmit this motion. Also replace the OIL......................sodeep
