Question about 2000 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
My car is a 2002 volkswagon tdi diesel. The problem is it will not rev over 1500 rpm it takes a few kilometers to get it just to 50 miles an hour. I changed the fuel filter, air filter, glow plugs and cataletic converter.if I upshift at a lower rpm then it accelerates a little quicker.the fuel flow is great pressure at each injector.if I barely push the pedal I can feel the car spuddering then push it more the spuddering goes away but it will not accelerate. T most I can get in speed over a 30 mile run is 50 miles an hour.and it takes 20 minutes to get up to that.when I take the oil filler cap off and hold my hand over the filler hole I feel puff puff puff against my hand. Is it a blown head gasket or a stiky valve. if a sticky valve how can I fix the problem cheap without a top end rebuild. The car has 389000 kilometers and has not had a oil change in about 100000 thousand kilometers. I was told when I bought the car new that synthetic oil has 0 break down so You change the oil about every 80000 kilometers so guess I am a little over due. I heard some kerosene in the oil will clean the valves or maybe spray water in the intake to steam the valves clean but this sounds like steaming the valves can increase the heat and blow a piston or a rod.
