Question about 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix
I have a 96 grand prix se and hve change water pump because it was leaking and after that it started running hot 240 so i change thremosatic no change still running hot was told radator had been changed just have brought it last week been trying to get this solved have anybody got a bad water pump new or any suggestion on what to do next? it did not run hot the night i drove it home started when i change water pump
It sounds like it may have air in the system there should be a bleeder valve for the coolant also if it ran hot you may have a possible head gaskt problem i would try bleeding the air out of the coolant system and if problem is still there you can buy a kit to check the head gasket it hooks to the coolant system and you pour a liquid in it and if it turns from blue to yellow it has a head gasket problem
