HI,

I dont know if this will be much help but I have a Toyota Sieana 2007, and the way it works there is, first you locate the miles reset button on your spedamiter display. Second you make sure that your car is off. thired you insert your key into the ignition, make sure you dont twist it of lock. forth you press down of the reset button and keep it down, then as you are holding it down you twist the key to the unlock position but not start. you hold it in this position for some time, on my toyota its till I get three bars glowing on the miles odamiter. then after about 10 secounds I think you will be fine to let it go. and last you are always welcomed to contact the dealership and they will lead you throuhg the steps for free.

well hope this advise was useful

Hi the fuel filter could be starving your engine of fuel on high revs so he could be correct also the d5 engine is a 5 cylinder deisel engine so the plugs he must have been refering to Are heater plugs & can send your car into limp mode so you need to know wich one is down you can check this your self by disconecting all the heater plug wires & checking the ohms with a meter of each plug the bad plug will have the least resistance hope this helps

How do i check and add fluid to my 2006 vw jetta

It will most likely be on backside of engine, drivers side is a good bet but could be passengerside also. Add fluid through the same spot you check it.

2006 JETTA- RECOMMEND TIMING BET REPLACEMENT

  • Hi, I can help.

  • The 2006 Jetta service manual says every 60,000 miles the belt should be replaced. Seems a bit on the short side to me but that is the manufacturer request non the less.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

How often do I change the fuel filter on my 2006 volkswagen jetta....(not a diesel)

Changing the fuel filter on a gasoline Jetta is NOT included as a routine service. Which may be good news for you (i.e. they don't need to be changed). Any reputable VW technician will recommend changing the filter between 60 and 80,000 miles, as a precaution.

What service goes on with the 60k service for a 2006 jetta?

you dont say what engine you have but even so my ten years with VW would recommend a timing belt change plus the normal oil/filters.(vw say "inspect belt and if showing signs of fraying/wear then replace")DO it anyway cos if it goes the bill is horrendous.....and who pays.???

I know this isn't a free solution but if you're into DIY repairs an official service manual will easily pay for itself. I had a 2000 Jetta until recently and used my manual dozens of times to validate the $50 expense.

How do i check transmissiom fluid 2006 jetta

Hi there,

Jetta's 2006 carry sealed gear box. There is no dip stick to check the transmission fluid. Per manufacturer, transmission fluid requires to change unless there is any issue with transmission. I hope this helps.
