Re: TT new model
It'll be awhile, several years at least. There are a large number of revisions to the current car compared to the original - many structural, feature, and drivetrain changes, in addition to interior and exterior styling. They're going to work this one for awhile, especially with the special versions (the TTS and TTRS) coming out in the next year and a half or so. I'd bet a new design won't come out for five more years or so, and they won't depart radically from what they already have - change it too much and it's not a TT anymore.

Ultimate solution is change the battery... because the capacity of battery cells is poor.. this could be the reason if battery is old... Still u can take a chance by completely removing the battery fluid and replacing it new battery fluid... but keep in mind that, after doing so, u'll need to charge the battery fully before using it in car... This kind of battery problem is common in all diesel cars, the reason I think is, Diesel engine need heavy torque to start that draws heavy current from battery.. so if you are facing starting trouble for the vehicle, then battery is surely going to discharge frequently... Still try the solution mentioned above and still the problem persists, then replace the battery with new one. ((I am considering that the battery you are having is 3-4 years old...))
We have a 2008(same body) with the same issue. Just got back from the Dodge dealer and they said "they're all like like that" #@!& Not a good answer as we live in Syracuse NY home of 150inches of snow/season! Last year the right side wiper blade broke off because it kept getting hooked on the ice in that corner of the windshield. Chrysler should offer a fix of some kind because it effects the visibility of the entire windshield and is dangerous!!! The dealer said the other vents (set of 3 squarish ones) are actually for speakers on some models but they are in a lower/better position to heat the bottom of the windsheild and look like they should be able to have warm air run through them.
I think I'm going to double face tape a small strip of black plastic above the current vents to deflect some of the warm air to the lower edge of the windshield.
If anyone else has a better fix please post.
Freexing in Syracuse!
that is a common problem with all pre 06 audi tt dashboard clusters. You need to contact audi customer support in your country, (NOT tHE DEALERS) and tell them that the problem is a common fault and you want a free replacement. They will do it. They did it for me in 2009.
Faulty batteries are rare. Typically when battery won't stay charged an alternator is needed, but you can check for a current drain first. To do this you need an ammeter. Disconnect positive line of battery and connect the circuit "through" the ammeter instead. (DO NOT START THE CAR LIKE THIS!!!). Monitor current draw - as you do so, pull each fuse from fuse panel (left side of dash). Don't pull them all, but rather remove one at a time. When the ammeter shows minimal current drain you'll know which circuit is causing the draw. You can then disconnect individual loads on that curcuit until you find the culprit. Hopefully it's something easy like a light switch - but it could be more involved.
headlamps, new front apron, a redesigned AMG-specific radiator grille painted in high-gloss black, LED tail-lights with clear-glass look if the optional bi-xenon headlamps are specified, new 20-inch 5-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels and a new rear apron with integrated reflectors. The larger exterior mirrors as well as the standard-fit aluminium-look roof rails add the finishing touches to the styling modifications. for more info http://www.zimbio.com/Mercedes-Benz/articles/117/2009+Mercedes+Benz+ML+63+AMG+Facelift
