On the 02 sebring when the cooling fan or i turn on the air the car idles(rpm) high then back down then stalls out if i dont hit the gas to steady the rpms

run the fault codes as the ecm should compensate for the extra load on the engine when the ac compressor cuts in
there will be a rpm drop of around 150 rpms when it cuts in then it should settle back to normal rpms and when the ac cuts out the rpms will go up and the settle back to normal
anything else indicates a sensor fault.

I have a chevy s10 2.2 2003 truck and one day it ran about five miles. then stalled. it started back up idled fine but put it in gear. stalled again. had to get towed home replaced the fuel filter,truck...

When you press on the gas when the truck is running, does it rev up?

Did it die while driving down the road (foot on the accelerator) or when idle? - If so, try cranking it and get your RPMs up to 1500-2000 RPMs and put it in drive (with your other foot on the brake). See if it will continue running if you never take your foot off the gas.

I have 2008 jeep compass while waiting at a light it slowly turns off or when i about to take off it hesitate to turn off

This looks like a gasoline problem. Try doing this, on parking see if it tries to stall, if not put it in drive and if it tries to turn off go back to parking and press the gas down a couple of times. Be careful not to pass the red line revolutions.

I would have your gasoline filter changed, this is very easy and you can do it yourself. Go to the dealer, ask where it is located, buy it and you can change it with a pair of pliers. Another solution and cheaper is to take out the gasoline filter and blow it backwards, it is better if you use a compressor hose. After you see all the dirt coming out, you can put it back and your problem will be solved.

Relaced transmission and now have a rattle sound comind from torque coverter area, noise gets louder when gas pedal is applied and noise goes away during shifting of transmission btu comes right back after...

your torque converter is rattling that is the clutch on the stator inside is worn out... You can stall test your torque converter ...Do this but follow correctly. put on parking brake..on the asphalt,,,, block all four wheels...push the gas to the floor for just 2 seconds...down one, two lift off gas pedal quickly..
when your doing this WATCH your RPMs they should reach to around 2200-2400 between the 2-4 rpm if not the Torque Converter is toast!!!! If your car passes the STAll test then when you tranny was put back on one of the fly wheel covers are rubbing....!!!.

Car stalls when stopped, cuts out when accelerating to HWY spds.

You could have a bad or intermittent fuel pump. Not a cheap thing to have.

An OBD 2 scanner can read fuel pressure on the drive to see if your fuel pressure drops off at odd times to confirm. It can also tell if there are transcient vacuum leaks at idle which the engines idle air control cant compensate for.

Do the plugs, wires and cap too.

Funny....thats a safety feature ford now uses. Keeps you from blowing the engine and no you cant by pass it. So yes its natural. But nice to know that someone still trys to feed some speed.....

1995 Saab 900S engine cutting off after drop in RPMs

Check the IAC valve and all vacuum lines. This link will take you to a DIY site showing where the valve is located on the naturally aspirated 4 cylinder Saab and how to clean it. If any vac lines look suspicious (dried, cracked or otherwise) replace all that you can get to. Vac leaks are notoriuos for causing poor drivability and stalling. Finally, clean out your throttle body and throttle plate and do a tune up if it has been a while (i.e. put in some new plugs, a new distributor rotor, a new air filter, etc.).
