'03 NB Turbo - Starting Problems

Twice now - I've had a problem with my daughter's car - the first time - car ran great to and from school. Took the car to a 4-H meeting - after the meeting - went to start car and it just did the "rrrr...rrr" thing - tried for like an hour - called the tow truck to come in the morning - tried one last time to start it - and it turned right over - with a big smell of gas. That was 2 weeks ago - has run fun since -- except yesterday - she took the car to and from school - got home at 2:30 -- at 3:00 I asked her to come and get me - and the car was doing the same "rrr...rrr" thing. We left it alone. When my husband got home at 6:30 - he tried starting it - still wouldn't start - he popped the hood and there was fan or something running under the "black" house that sits over the motor and the black plastic house was hot to the touch. Could this be some how over heating the motor and thus causing it to not start? Has anyone else had this problem? HELP!!

Sounds like the radiator fan might be staying on and not switching off causing the battery to drain when you're parked. Could be a defective fan switch or more complicated the wires going to or from the fan module or the fan module itself.

Took RAV 4 to NC mountains and back twice this weekend. It ran fine but started it this morning and it would stall when I took my foot off gas pedal

I would change your fuel filter. The mountains, and the sudden jerking would provide a great chance for the fuel to pull up any nasties, and then run them through the line.

I've got a 2003 jetta 2.0 made in april of 2002 throwing a po343, I replaced the cam sensor, timing belt, it ran great for about 10 miles then the ignition pack went out(miss-fire cyl 1). I replaced...

If your car is off a single tooth on the Timing Belt, you will have continued problems... you need to verify the timing is on. If the timing is off, reset it and then proceed if the problem returns

I did have a problem with a defective Cam Shaft Sensor and replacing it with another Defective Sensor....

I have a 2004 Chevy Cavalier. A couple of months ago, just after starting the car one day, the 'check engine' and 'trac off' lights both came on. I immediately shut off the car, waited approximately 5...

Many cars have the cooling fan on a thermostat or time delay, to allow it to run for a short period of time after the engine turns off, to cool the engine off. You may have just never noticed it before. So I wouldn't worry about that.
Your real problem is the blowing fuses, apparently you have a short somewhere in your wiring. Putting in bigger and bigger fuses is a great way to set fire to your wiring harness. It's possible that the wire is pinched or chafed somewhere, and perhaps when you hit a bump just right, it touches and shorts.
You may have to take this to the Chevy dealer or a GOOD independent shop to have them chase it down. Unless someone out there knows exactly what this is, it could be a tough one to find.

The car wont go over 25 miles an hour. I had a starting problem the shop told me that it was the fuel pump. They replaced the fuel pump. When it went in it ran great no problems when it was running now...

OK, your turbo is bad now.
Sometimes bad things happen to cars. And the bad things show up one after another. I don't think that changing the fuel pump caused the turbo to go bad.
