Question about 2001 Chrysler 300M

1 Answer

The power windows will sporadically work. Now, the driver's side window is stuck in the down position and I can't get it up. The other windows will not work, either, although they are in the up position. My driver side window works sporadically as well. It seems that when I want it to work it doesn't (when I have a hankering for Starbucks drive-thru) and when I don't need the window to work it does. When it stops working I can hear a single "click" in the door near the button that rolls the window down. Then out of the blue it will start to work again. Is there a short somewhere?

I have written that down and will look further into how to replace (or fix) the body control module. Here's another question...my daughter has a 2001 Old Aurora. The power steering pump was replaced less than a year ago. It went out again a few weeks ago and we had it replaced. We got the car back last week and last night my daughter said it went out again. Well on the way home she said it started working again. So.. it's working sporadically. In addition to that, the fuel guage fluctuates up and down. What could be causing this?

Not a short, a shot is when a positive and negative wire touch, that blows a fuse, what you have is a problem with a component called the BODY CONTROL MODULE, you might say it is the central brain of all the electrical systems except the engine and transmission which have there own brain.

On my 2001 kia sportage the back two windows won't go down and the right front window is stuck halfway up

make sure power windows lock out switch on driver side not on position, that will cause power windows not work or you have faulty power window relay.

My passenger window is stuck in

Not a fuse,Most likely a grounding issue with the switch or maybe switch needs replaced. This is a common problem with power windows and 9 times out of 10 it is in the one on the drivers side even though its the passenger window giving the problem...driver side controls all power supply....may be loose connection. Check that first...hope this helps and if so Please leave a rating on this post..

Passenger side window stuck in down position

Volcompunker is on track.... if it is a stuck motor problem, before taking door apart, try this...it may work, works well on dodge caravans...

NO COST and fast PROCEDURE TO FIX IT:

1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it)
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !!
5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.

7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!

My passenger window is stuck in the down position, Driver side works fine. could this be the motor, fuse, ? Please advise. thanks

since your other power windows are working and if the other interior accessories are working fine I would suggest having the power window motor actuator checked and replaced if found to be defective.

Passenger Window Stuck all the way Down

Try switching the power window switch from the passenger side to the drivers side. Before you do that try with the switch on the up position, wiggle it from side to side. The contacts may be worn and by wiggling it may make contact. Other then that try to park it in side or garbage bag taped to keep rain out till you get it to the shop.
Hint, take it to a Auto window repair shop to replace the switch if it's bad or if the motor is bad. They have more experience to removing the door panels and removing the power window regulator (motor) if that needs to be replaced.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Driver Side Window won't work- Chevy Blazer 2003

If it does not make any noise, or sound like its getting any power, most likely its the switch.

Drivers side power window

If your other windows work, then it is not a fuse. You may need to have your window motor replaced.

If all of windows have failed at the same time it will likely be a fuse that has blown. I suspect that the motor and/or mechanism for the driver's window may have worn to the point that it is creating high resistance that has blown the fuse.
