Use the recommended weight of oil, and by far the most important maintain proper tire inflation.
Change air filter at 30,000
fuel filter at 60,000
tune up at 100,000

Should I use conventional or high mileage motor oil for my engine with 244,000 miles

Even if the vehicle has had regular oil changes with filters every 5-6000 miles use the high mileage specific oil. The engine will have wear no matter how good the previous maintenance has been. been.
I have a Honda that has 180000 miles on it and notice that on longer journeys it uses oil even though it has been well looked after since new. The high milage oil makes it run less noisily, (it is a diesel.) I believe it make the engine more longer lived too

WHY DO I GET SUCH POOR GAS MILAGE ON MY CAR

A vehicle like that won't give a poor gas milage for nothing. The dealer just don't want o deal with you. I own a 2009 Nissan Versa, which is one of the best gas milage car you can get, but right now is spending way too much gas. In my case the problem is the spark plug and the air filter, and it should be good to go. Have it diagnostic. Good luck.

After getting gasoline, it increases wrong mileage with camry 2003

One tank of gas is not enough to compare mileage. Or are you saying the computer's readout of mpg estimate is showing less? Try a tank or two of premium and see if that helps. Keep track of gas mileage. Driving techniques have a lot to do with gas mileage, as does long trips vs. short trips, highway cruising vs. city driving. For best mileage, do regular maintenance and keep the car in top running condition-good spark plugs and clean filters and clean oil ! Attend to minor problems before they escalate.
If you want to check actual miles per gallon, start with a full tank. Write the odometer reading down, and go. Everytime you put gas in, write down the amount. When you are close to 1,000 miles from the time you started, go fill the tank and include that amount of gas to your previous list. Now add up all the gas used and divide it into the miles to get miles per gallon. (976 miles/31.8 gallons = 30.69 mpg ) . Only one tank will skew your numbers, might be off cause the tank was filled more to the top than the previous fill-up. About a thousand miles of driving will give you a very accurate figure of miles per gallon for your car.

How do I get best gas mileage for 5.4 2005 Expedition

You won't get good milage on that vehicle no matter

Ford trucks have not had good mileage ever,

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra pickup. Since I started using E85 gas, mileage has dropped drastically. Can you tell me if I need to ues a different type of spark plug? Thanks, Will

These trucks with the flex fuel systems will not get as good of milage on E85. They are designed this way. I haven't heard of any kind of spark plug that will help you in this. It is kind of a trade off, better milage but gas is more expensive, E85 is cheaper and more enviromently freindly but gas milage suffers. I also have a 2006 Chevy but did not get the flex fuel for this reason. On my car I use it and the milage suffers a little but with the trucks you will see even less milage due to the fact that trucks get worse milage than cars to begin with.

My 1996 F150 with the 300ci, 4.9liter inline 6 with auto trasns.and overdrive gets terrible gas mileage.12-13 mpg. Doesn't trip any trouble codes, ox sensors all tested good. Had the truck 3 years now....

your milage won't get much better than around 20 mpg at the best of times but you may have a partially plugged resignater or catalytic converter.you can check these with a digital thermomiter by checking temps. in and out of these, they should be close to the same.

Need to know whats the best fuel octane for 88 ford ranger with 2.9 liter v-6 fuel injected engine

Hello!
You can use any brand starting from regular (87) to super or premium (93) depending on your budget. Lower octane gives you usually lower gas milage and can cause problems with engine starting in winter. So for winter time and better gas milage use medium grade.
Good Luck

Poor gas milage

Not sure where you live but if the gas you get has a higher amount of ethanol in it you will get worse gas milage. But there are many reasons that effect gas millage.
