Speedometer I was on my way home yesterday and noticed the speedometer at 70mph. It started droping from 70 to 40 to 0 to 50 and back to 70. Watched it for 15 miles. Weird? Any suggestions DDS

Please Help!!! 1999 Mercury Sable doesn't seem to accelerate past first gear..engine revs up to very high rpms.

If the speedometer stops working the odometer stops also. Sounds like it is stuck in first gear. The RPM went up because the throttle was response to pedal but transmission not response. Check transmission fluid color. Whip off dipstick on a white paper towel look for gray if see any that is metal shavings and transmission is bad.

1990 honda accord speedometer inaccurate

The speedometer sensors on these cars can go bad sometimes and often, and also low power steering fluid can effect their readings. Check your power steering fluid level and see if that is the cause, If not, the sensor is probably worn out a bit.

Engine failure

When a catalytic converter is coming apart on the inside, it can restrict air flow and power, and it usually happens or gets worse when the vehicle has been running long enough to generate a lot of heat. Once it cools down, the symptoms can completely go away until you begin to drive it again. It's one possibility.

Will the 15 inch rims from a 2000 caravan fit a 2006 grand caravan

The 2000 uses a 215/65-15 tire meaning the tire has a circumference of 2075.02mm

The 2006 uses a 215/70-15 tire meaning the tire has a circumference of 2142.56mm

The difference in circumference would be 67.54mm or 3.25%

If the speedometer displays 70mph, you'll actually be traveling at 72.28mph

This amount is considered to be irrelevant so it will fit

Speedometer reads too high

with the difference in ratio, the drive wheels rotate at a faster rate of RPM. you will also notice that the motor revs higher RPM as well and that will not change. However, you may need to change the speedo cable to resolve the speedometer discrepancy.

Transmission speedometer problem

This all can be caused by a defective Vehicle Speed sensor, also called a VSS, also run a test on the computer to see if any codes are in memory that will help to sort this problem out.
