Question about 1994 Honda Civic Del Sol

1991 Honda del Sol Overheating and funny idle

Replaced all radiator hoses, thermostat, radiator fan switch, it worked fine for a week or two after replacing switch and then the problems came back. Its leaking radiator fluid again, every 2 or 3 days the radiator is empty again. It doesn't look like the radiator is leaking, and the radiator cap looks fine. Also, when first starting this car at a cold start, it likes to rev funny, you can watch the RPMs go from 1,500 to 500 back and forth, idleing, vrm vrm vrm is kinda what it sounds like, not constant though....any idears? Thank you very much.

The idle problem kinda sounds like the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve on the intake manifold. Another idea is maybe coolant temp. sensor. And if it's leakings coolant still after replacing all those parts then i would say maybe the water pump is leaking since i believe on those motors its by the timing belt which is behind the plastic cover on the motor so maybe that's why you're not seeing fluid so much because it's in there. Hope some of this helpes, good luck.

If the fuses are ok check that the temp sender switch that controls the fan /relay is working properly. Check that the fan is not seized up.

Overheating in 91 honda accord

Remove the thermostat and run the engine at idle until it starts to overheat. If it does then the radiator may have clogged veins and needs replacing.
