SOURCE: Ac compressor won't kick on

Just had the same issue and posted. Just found the solution is the control module in the dash. Went to the junk yard since new is expensive on these units. Plugged new unit in, was able to charge a/c now blows cold as ice.

SOURCE: 1995 z-28. air conditioner compressor won't kick

Your A/C pressure switch may have gone bad or the wire harness to it may have gone bad. The switch is along the low pressure line or on the A/C Accumulator ( looks like a silver canister) , Unplug the wire and you can jump it there and see if the clutch comes on, if it does try spreading the two tabs apart on the switch and clipping the wire back on. If it does not come back on you need to replace the switch, you can do it with out loosing to much R134A. Just got to be quick when you  remove the old one and placing the new one. The low side should have a reading of 30PSI to 50PSI and the high side should have 150PSI to 200PSI. Any other reading will give you poor A/C performance. Good luck and hope this helps.

How to troubleshoot a airconditioner

I'm not sure if you changing out the radiator is coincidental or if you disconnected something by accident but usually if you ac compressor doesn't engage it means your freon level is low. Go to pep boys and buy a freon recharge kit. Make sure the can says that it has "sealant" in it as freon should never be low since it's a closed system. If the freon is low, there's a leak somewhere. The sealant will usually remedy this. It will be anywhere from 15-35 dollars. Follow the instructions. It sounds intimidating but is actually quite rudimentary. I think that will solve your problem.

I have a 95 chevy cheyenne. My ac pump doesn't

Have you checked to see if the system has enough freon ?
If the system is low or empty the low pressure switch will prevent power from going to the compressor clutch.

do you have freon in the system because the low pressure switch will not let the compressor run with out enough freon dont know where the switch is but it should be near the dryer there is also a diode in the harness going to the compressor

A/C clutch kicks on intermitten on my 2004 Corolla.

power to the ac compressor is the problem
could be the thermostat relay or what you have the ac set at
the ac will cycle if the cabin temp is at the setting
if you have climate control it will cycle as well

Have no power to a/c compressor for my 1993 turbo diesel non-power stroke f350. checked fuses they are okay. jumped hot wire and ground over from battery and the compressor kicks on.

You have either a bad pressure switch or your system is to low on freon. pressure switch is located near evaporator close to fire wall to check use jumper wire across the 2 terminals if compressor turns on add freon the chances are that the switch is ok. make sure to add the freon on the low side of system and use a gauge on the fill hose (the better fill kits have the gauge on the hose). If you get cold air out the vents and then after a bit it doesn't seem cold you have a leak in the system. Make sure to use the correct type of freon should have a sticker under the hood. I think it should be R-134A but make sure the sticker will tell you the correct type.
Thanks for using FixYa Hope this sheds so light on your problem

When the a/c button is pushed it lights up then starts flashing and the compressor wont kick in. There is freon in the system, but the computer clutch at first started to turn, then kidked back out.

are you checking the freon as the compressor kicks in and out if not then ur not getting a proper reading the cheap gauges only calibrated for when the compressor is running

My 96 toyota a/c light starts to blink and the a/c turns off.

The AC light does not flash if the freon is too low or too high.
The light flashes because the "compressor revolution sensor" is going bad. It is bolted to the side of the compressor.
