How can I remove my radio from my 2001 cabrio vw so I can get the radio serial number to reset my radio. I lost my code number to reset radio :-(

You do not need to take the dash apart, there are two little slots oneon each side of the face of the radio, you need special removal tools to unlock it and it will pull right out, but first check in your owners manual, or in the spare tire well for the card, or sticker which has the serial number as well as the unlock code for your radio.

Radio unlock code

For this code you most likely would have to get it from VW. Unless you get lucky and fine it on the internet. There is a good site to fine that can off stuff just look up the web site scribd.
Hope that this helps.

Cheers

My 04 cabrio radio is on safe mode any universal code i can use?

You can buy a DIN radio removal tool or ask the guys at the local car stereo shop to pull it out for you, I had mine replaced with a Pioneer at circuit city for less than$100. Better sound, better tuner and now I have the old radio with the code on it to put back in if I sell the car.
