Question about 1989 Toyota Pickup SR5
My brake light and battery light come on and then I have a dead battery later. Can't figure out what is shorting out. Please help.
The brake light combined with the battery light tells me that your alternator is not sufficiently charging the battery. These 2 lights illuminate in tandem when the voltage regulator is not seeing over 12.5 volts. You are going to probably have to replace the alternator, or get it checked & overhauled at an alternator shop.
