Question about 2005 Kia Rio
Have the coil checked. That was what mine was like and the coil had a crack in it. also nreplaced the plug wires, they were arched.

The fuel filter is actually in the gas tank. Take it to a knowledgable mechanic. (Depending on what year)
Check the MAF though. I think this is a common problem with the cars.
