97 dodge stratus power steering leak

My mother's car, 97 Dodge stratus, seems to have a power steering leak. We believe it to be a hose, but the power steering is a bit difficult to get to. I was wondering if you would happen to know the steps involved to get to it, and repair it.

I had a somewhat related type of problem with my 2000 dodge stratus. It had poor steering and handling on curves. After 55000 miles with this problem I decided to replace the brain box, not the TCM. Now it steers more easily and takes curves at higher speeds well. I was amazed because I avoided unnecessary costly repairs. Hope this helps.

If it is a hose it could be in 6 or 7 sections to get to the pump you need 2 lower your front suspension i believe not a job for the neighborhood joe unless joe's a mechanic

97 dodge dakota leaking power steering fluid but unit was replaced. Is there a radiator or cooling system that could be damaged?

it could possibly be a PS hose thats leaking, if its blasting out, it would be the power side of the unit hose, if it just leaks out, it would be the return line, you can tell what kind of leak by the fluid leaking, a radiator or cooling system would be antifreeze ,, the PS would be an oil

Where can I find a low collapsible vacuum hose for my 97 dodge stratus auto parts store has no idea what i'm talking about.

When a vacuum hose collapses it has failed and is no longer doing its job. At that point it either leaks or seals off the vacuum that should be present. If youhave a collapsed hose it needs to be replaced, but you would replace it with a good one. The "low" portion - do you mean it supplies low vacuum or it is in a low position on the vehicle?

I have a 2003 dodge durango that is leaking power string fluid

They do make power steering leak stopper although I have never had much success with it. I don't quite understand what you mean coolant lines for power steering because that I know of on your vehicle I don't believe there is a cooler for your power steering.

My power steering on a 2003 dodge stratus squeeks in the morning and is hard to steer. After awhle, it is normal.

Probably low level in the power steering fluid tank. If the level gets low again, it could be a leak(in my case was the hose underneath the tank.

1995 dodge stratus smells like something burning, can't find any leaks. Smoke at back of motor. Temp gauge goes half way when I smell it. It never runs hot. What can this be???

sounds like oil leaking on the exhaust, this can be engine oil or power steering fluid, have the car put up in the air and checked, this can cause a fire if not repaired.

follow the line to the rack and pinion. Take the line loose there and at the back of the pump. replace it with the new one. Should be a 15 mm wrench
