Mercedes C200 just idling accelerator does not work

Hi
I have a C200 W202 1999. It was running fine, I started it the other day and the accelerator does not work! It just runs smoothly in idling speed but pressing the accelerator takes the rev up by 2 or 3 and thats it. Bascally I cannot drive it more than 10mph!
Can anyone please advise.
Thank you.

Having had a flat battery and then opening the trunk (boot) using a 12 volt supply on a 12 +ve lead to activate the release solenoid to re charge it the car started OK. But now have the same trouble as above with the accelerator not working. The BAS ESP light on the bottom left of the dash screen also stays on.

Take it for diagnostics sounds like either the AIr Mass sensor has failed or it has gone into limp mode, check your manual for further advice on that.

Try this. Turn the ignition to position 2 and leave it about two minutes(you should hear components moving/making noise under the hood). This should relearn the throttle stop(sounds like your vehicle lost synchronization). After that period of time, start the car and see if it helps. If not, then it will probably have to go to the dealer so they can use the computer to try and relearn it.

1996 mercedes c280 dies when put in drive

Engine stalls or RPM fluctuates at idle up and down or dies near idle.

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve but always run a OBD2 fault code as well as the cleaning procedure. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

Have 380 SL not run regulary for several years but started couple of times a year. Fuel stabilizer and new fuel added yearly. Problem this year when took to the highway. Starts good and idles fine, but...

Sounds like a transmission slipping,if the engine
Rpm goes up & the car doesn't increase in speed

No fix for that, other than to remove it & have it built

Mercedes c200 kompressor 2003, engine light on.

If the car is running fine, you may have a loose fuel cap...this will cause the engine light to come on due to the system not being able to pressurize the tank properly....tighten the fuel cap and it will go awy in a few days. If this does not solve the problem and the car is running fine and you have the radio code, simply disconnect the battery (negative cable), wait a few minutes and reconnect. You will have to enter the radio code to get the radio to work again. Good luck

Misfires until ignition is turned off then on again.

I wouldn't panic just yet. The most common cause of that is simply poor spark plug wires. And if it is the ECU, or something similar, call an auto wrecker and get one for cheap. Don't be afraid of used parts. You drive on them every day.
