My best suggestion to you is go to a Auto Zone or Kragen auto and have them run a free test on the battery, also check the battery cables for corrosion, it will look like white powder around the ends at the battery.

My intermittent wipers will not work on my 2001 deville.Everything else works properly with the wipers. What can I do?

There should be a relay under the dash that performs the intermittent windshield wiping.
Hope this helps.

I have a 2001 Cadillac deville. The car shuts off sometimes when I am stopped for a short while. My digital dash says to change my oil, check coolant, and now my wipers stopped working. I changed the oil,but...

The crank sensor can cause the stalling out but as far as the oil change message and the wiper and the low coolant these are not related, the oil change message has to be reset look in the owners book for steps to reset it, the low coolant light is common, this is low coolant or the sensor is dirty or bad and the wipers, you will need to test for power at the motor if theres power at the motor then the motor just went bad but has nothing to do with the stalling out.

2001 cadillac Deville won't start--it was fine all afternoon. Lights come on, I hear a soft click-y sound---but nothing more. Could it be that the ''Starter'' maxibreaker needs replacement? Merle...

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BATTERY NEEDS MORE JUICE TO TURN THE STARTER. HAVE IT CHARGED. AND THEN HAVE THE ALTERNATOR TESTED AT YOUR LOCAL AUTO PARTS PLACE FOR FREE. PERHAPS THE ALTERNATOR IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY.I HOPE THIS HELPS. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA.

2001 Cadillac DeVille

The most probable cause for this is a an intermittent problem with the Starter solenoid and/or starter.

When the car does not respond to turning the ignition key on can you hear a click from under the hood?

If you can that is the starter solenoid trying to turn on the starter motor. I would say the starter needs to be replaced.

If you cannot hear anything, then the solenoid ( which is just a relay) is probably bad.

I just replaced my startere on my F150, starter & solenoid come as a unit.... cost about $125.

Hopes this helps good luck Loringh

Battery terminals like bad or corroded. Replace, and you should be fine.
