Question about 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera
I bought the car for $500 dollars in July. Would sometimes not start right away unles I pumped gas pedal one time. It's fuel injected. So, why would I have to do that to begin with? Now it will crank, turn over for a second for about 6 times in a row. Then will drive. But if I get home and let it sit for about an hr, it will do the same thing. Before this happened it will intermittantly die on me at stop signs and stop lights. Please help :)
I would check (or have checked for you) your fuel pressure. Sounds similar to some of the symtoms of a failing fuel pump. I can't find your pressure specs at the moment but 12-20 psi sounds like the range for your car. Even if your pressure is fine, it may also be the volume, such as a plugged fuel filter.
