Loss of power when up to temperature

I have a low mileage (56,000) car with a 302ci that lately drops in power and misses when up to temperature. It runs fine when first started...no misses or stumbling but as it warms up it runs poorly. any help would be much appreciated.!! Thanx ....Dan

Thanx, I will give that a whirl. Just wondering though, if the wires are the problem would the car still start and run OK till temp builds up?

Sounds like a spark plug wire issue, spray the wires with a fine mist of water and see if it misses.

Yes, these kinds of problems are most apparent hot under load, like passing or pulling a hill. Remember all conducters work better cold, no matter what they are, house wiring or spark plug wires.

While driving the coaster 2008 ,once I reach 140, the temperature gauge goes up ,but when I stop it goes down.

Issue? 140 is low, could be problem if you need heat. but otherwise? Mileage may suffer if temp is too low. Sounds like the engine thermostat is missing or not functioning properly.

Power loss at 80 mph won't go above speed does not have cruise control.

check the cylinder compressions , could well be on the low side at that mileage

Power loss on Ford 302ci truck engine starts fine runs good for a short while then losses power

similar problem was caused by a blocked fuel filter. after running for a while, the dirt in the filter is drawn against the filter paper blocking the flow

Loss of power, hesitation, bad gas mileage

Clean the MAF sensor. Could also need a tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter. Could also have a stopped up catalic converter that needs to be replaced.

High mileage car. Low quality Kenyan fuel. Low on

High on mileage means that the engine has done a lot of work, possible that the compression is down, need to check if this is below level, if there is oil used in excess then the engine needs an overhauling subject to the cost estimated.

Cant compromise on bad fuel as this will bring down the power of the engine.
High fule consumption means poor setting so fuel and ignition , check fuel settings- pump calibration and timing.

Has trouble taking off.low exhaust pressure, low fuel mileage

Suspects will include air supply, compression, and exhaust.

After ruling out the obvious basics (fresh air filter, unobstructed air intake) pull the wire clip to the auto-choke and idle for a few seconds before dropping it in gear to check for a change in power.

*Have you pulled the rear wheels to check for a binding E-brake or broken springs in the drums?
What feels like a left-front drag could also be a rear dragging...

*Has it been smoking lately?

check the hose on the intercooler and around the turbo, check for split on turbo and the intercooler hose not too soft as they can collaps while driving
