Question about 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer

1 Answer

Brakes I have a 06 trailblazer, a couple of days ago starting smelling like brakes burning like when you stop a big truck and lock up the brakes and they smoke real bad, that what it smells like. We checked everything out and nothing is in there or around the brake area, tires are fine lines are good. Checked brake fluid and its full, everything works fine. No lights come on on the dash. What could it be?

Thanks but we already did that too, everything turns just fine and nothing is out of the ordinary. Brake pads are in good shape and callipers are working good.

Try to jack up the wheels and turn them to see if there is no seized brakes/calipers. Let us know how you get on.

My truck is 1992 toyota 22re engine , couple weeks ago it started to choke around 80 or 90 km. and couple days ago it stopped working around 30 or 40 km. it starts ok but when i drive it kinda choke...

I can't tell you anything specific but black smoke indicates incomplete burning such as not getting enough air or too much fuel. A quick check of the air filter wouldn't hurt but it's probably something else.

Front tire smoking, steeting wheel sharking, brakes locking up

Having this happen on both front brakes makes me think you have a bad master cylinder. What work have you done to it prior to this problem?

Whenever I start the car it smokes than after warming up it stops smoking.

The key is how much smoke? Does the smoke have a smell to it. Are you consuming any fluids, like coolant, or oil?

Tons White smoke that is sweet smelling is usually coolant getting into the combustion chamber.

Less white smoke, especially if other cars are doing it, is normal. For every gallon of gas that you burn, you generate a gallon (GALLON) of water. so this water usually evaporates, but sometimes not. It has little or no smell.

If the smoke is bluish white, that is oil, but usually your converter would fill with oil, and cause error codes, or loss of power. This smell is distinct, but not necessarily sweet.... After the converter heats up, it may be able to burn off the oil and the smoke stops.

What are you consuming, fluid wise, will direct where you go next.

Clicking/knocking sound and feel when shifting & smell

first check the clutch hydrolic fluid. If it's low or leaking, it may not disengage the clutch completely causing the disk to drag (and smell) The knocking sounds like you're loosing the thowout bearing and/or possibly the disk (there are cushion springs that may have come out of place). Take it to a transmission shop that does free diagnosis. anything other than fluid-related is going to be pricey.

Big puff of white smoke at start up after sitting for several hours.

white smoke is water
blue smoke is oil.
nest time try and smell the white smoke see if it smells sweet?
if it does its antifreeze.
and also black smoke is fuel (like a leaky injector )
hope this helps
