Fuel at fuel filter doesnt mean its getting the correct pressure to operate the injectors. do not spray starting fluid into a diesel motor, you will damage the rings, score cylinder walls, burn valve guides... etc . starting fluid is not designed for diesel engines. the only way to test the fuel system is to test it by hooking up a pressure test gauge to the service port. the next most likely issue would be a faulty glow plug relay or 1 or 2 faulty glow plugs.

SOURCE: fuel pump runs but vehicle wont start

Based on what you described, the engine need the fuel to run and obviously it didn't have it. The pump can turn, but it can not deliver a correct rate to built up the required pressure for injector to shoot out. or if it can the injector module didn't open the injectors to have fuel shooting out. Here are things related to no fuel problem, and need to be checked in the following order: - Injector Module. Read my other posts on this subject. - Injectors - Fuel accumulator. - Fuel filter. - Fuel pump Good luck.

2003 ford focus won't start for about an hour after driving

You need to find out what's missing , spark or fuel pressure ! I'am assuming by that it doesn't start you mean the engine spins over but won't start an run . Pull a plug wire off a spark plug an hold it near ground an have someone try to start it ! Is there spark ? Try spraying starting fluid into the engine an try starting ! Does it start ? fuel system problem . ignition problem .

I have a 2003 Pontiac Montana that ran out of gas, I put 2 gallons in it and now it won't start

Turn the key to run and listen to see if the electric fuel pump is running. If it is, allow it to run for 30 seconds before turning the key to start. This will allow the pump to push enough fuel to the fuel rail so the injectors have something to spray.

2003 ford explorer will turn over but not start

The first thing I would do is check fuel pressure. You should be able to find a test port on the fuel rail that runs on either side of the intake. Use a fuel pressure gauge to see what fuel pressure is when you crank the engine over. You could try shooting a couple shots of carb spray into the throttle body and start the engine. If it starts you likely have a fuel issue and a pressure test would be the next step.

2003 crown victoria cranks wont start, was running fine, just cut out.never started again

As with any no-start situation, you need to know if you have spark to the plugs, fuel to the injectors, and normal compression to proceed.

02 chevy avalanche start and die

Try checking the condition of the following:

1) Spark plugs, leads and coils.
2) Air filter
3) Fuel filter.

Please report back after checking those, replacing and/or testing.

I have 2003 expedition that wont start,, it already has a new battery and starter..?

If have replaced the battery and starter then most likely your problem may be coming from the alternator. The alternator is in charge of providing a constant charge to the battery for all electrical components to run. If that does not work then try checking your fuel pressure to see if the fuel pump is not supplying enough fuel for ignition. Spray starter fluid inside the intake and if it starts long enough then you know that your problem is not fuel related.

Hope this Helps!

Its faulty fuel pump and clogged fuel filter. In your vehicle the fuel pressure is low,due to this faulty fuel pump and clogged fuel filter,so its not starting. But it starts when you spray liquid in intake. The liquid directly goes to engine so vehicle starts.Replace the fuel pump and filter. This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Signs of a Bad Fuel Pressure Regulator
the vehicle will not start, if a bad regulator. Usually, this is a problem that is encountered in the morning when you start your vehicle. Many a times, the engine starts, but stalls shortly after starting. check the fuse and relay for pump. also remove line to fuel pressure regulator and if fuel in line, replace fuel pressure regulator. check for spark and also the timing belt. its one sign of not starting. if car runs fine on spray, I would not say its the timing belt or chain.

2003 Esprit turns over ...will not start .?.

first you got to figure out if it is fuel or electrical. spray a little starting fluid into the intake andtry to fire it up, if it starts for a few seconds it a fuel issue, if it does it may be a electrical problem. Fuel issues range in fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel rpessure regulator and so on, elctrical issus revolve around spark plugs and coils and such

Our car interminately does not start after a nightfall heavy rain or high humidity and dew point in first thing in the morning. The car starts fine at all other points of the day.

I take it, it turns over ok.Spray the ignition wires with WD-40,that's a water displacer. If it starts ok then, replace the wires. If still no start then spray the distributor cap. It may have a crack in it (that you can't even see). If there's moisture inside the cap, you've found it.Finally try spraying the ignition coil tower ( where the big wire comes out). That can be cracked too.
