I was running my car fine until one day when i started the car i turned on fine, but minutes later it started to stall, the RPM of the engine started to go up and down until the engine turned off, I started it again but the engine started stalling and accelerated, i ran but forced until finally when i turned off the car now it doesn't want to turn on, also when i flooded the accelerator the engine stalled and wanted to turn off. Please help me, i want to know if it's the fuel pump, or the computer or the power distributor, please i need this car running for my work , please let me know i would appreciate it
My 94 ranger had a problem of starting when it wanted and running bad. I took it to a ford dealer and they replaced and ignition sensor and fuel pump sensor and it did the trick. On the ranger they are located in a fuse box just behind the battery. They are 1in square black pull out cubes. If you find where they are at,go to part place and ask which on is the fuel pump sensor and the ignition sensor, replace it it makes it go like a new one ,if this is the problem. I almost replaced the fuel pump, because that is what it felt like, a bad pump. Boy would that have been a mistake. Good Luck, JOHN from Oregon
Trust me i know whats thats like one min. it starts and the next its dead for me it was the fuel pump take it to your local machanic and ask him to check the psi on your fuel pump to determine if that is the problem

On electronic fuel injection pumping an pumping an pumping the gas pedal does nothing without the engine running ! Pushing the gas pedal to the floor will cause the PCM - engine computer to go into clear flood mode .
You have some very interesting ideas here , but not really how it works or is !
The vehicle will go into closed loop fuel control when the engine coolant temp reaches a definded temp an the O2 sensor get hot.
She would run for a couple minutes and die which is open loop when running, closed loop is when the sensors kick and it would die. Pulled spark plugs, they were black meaning no spark. Can only be 2
Black spark plugs indecate a rich condition , over fueled , wet spark plugs indecate no spark .
mcdevito75 Here, It"s possible the ignition Module is going bad, no way to test and if so, one day the car will not start at all.----------It can also be a vapor loc, wher the fuel is evaporating before it reaches the cylinders. Best Bet, have your local shop check both these items.
a bad crank sensor can cause this. shuts off while going down road, and will start about 10 min, later with no problems runs fine until it quits again. hope this helps,
