Inside the trunk under the carpeting you should find the connector connected to the light. Turn the connector and you should then be able to pull the light assembly out to access the bulb. Make sure to tighten the connector after replacing the bulb and putting the assembly back.

SOURCE: i need to know how to get the tail light lens cover off to change signal bulb

Open hatch and on inside of body where the lens is are two horizontal screws going into the lens, remove them and pull the lens towards the back of the vehicle carefully. Good luck

SOURCE: Need fuse schematic

if the fuse was blown the stop lights on both sides would be inop, also if the stop light circuit were dead u would be unable to get the trans out of park, use a 12 volt test light and test the brake light switch at the top of the brake pedal, u can buy a test light from Autozone, kragen and others for about $5 US. If the system has power cjheck the bulb socket it may be defective, use the 12 volt test light while someone pushes the brake pedal. let me know what u find and i will give u further assistance as ness.

SOURCE: Right brake light out; tail light works fine

most rear tail lights and turn/stop lights are the same dual filiment bulb. it is possible for your tail light to work and your brake light not to and still have a bad bulb. I would check the bulb first, your brake light works on the left yes? this would mean that the fuse is fine

Check for a bad socket assembly. Look for burnt retainers inside the socket.

The turn signals and brake lights use the same circuit and filament in the bulbs. The tail lights are on the other circuit which comes from the headlight switch.

My tail lights on my 1999 chevy venture work when they won't to and I think it's a ground short.. But I don't know where to look for it!

get a wiring diagram, follow this circuit, wire by wire, start @ rear, your tail lights, check each bulb, then proceed to front, along frame rail, to switch & fuse block. test for continuity & shorts, bad wires, corrosion, etc

Toyota solara 2001, tail light nor working. Fuse pups every time. every one said i have a short some where. Toyota has a light failure sensor. I am unable ($300) small box at the rear of the car. help

There is indeed a short in the circuit however what you need to do is hook a meter set up to read amps across the terminals to determine how much current the circuit is trying to pull. Massive means either the light socket has a short, or your sensor has gone bad. Your local library should have a book on the cars wiring harness to help out.

Change rear signal bulb on 2002 ford focus wagon

Open the rear tailgate There are 2 screws that hold light housing in place.. Remove the screws then pull the housing outwards till the clip behind it springs. You then need to knock the housing sideways (outwards) to free the 2 prongs that attach housing to the car body.
Unclip the rear housing from the back of the light unit & change the bulb.
