Question about 1988 Ford Escort EXP
When i went to look at the car the first time after he bought it. the car would not move in to any gear, i found that the lock pin in the shifter was bent i fixed that.now at this time the car had been started and warmed up. i put the car into gear and it rolled 10 feet then no more pull.
i had him tow it to my place and i had to move the car out of the drive way i started the car and put it in gear and the car operated fine. the engin was ice cold. i think it could be a electronic siclinoid in the valve body but i would like to have a soulution from someone who works more with transmissions. I only pull and swap them out normaly but this is a good friend so i will give it a shot but were else should i look too.
91?..hummmm...probabely main regulator vave stuck in the control valve assembly,.you would have to remove lower pan and disassemble it to free up stuck valves..however if there is a lot of metal on the two magnets in the pan,..chances are you will need a trans repair trans is a f4ael.....
