You might have a short in the circuit board that controls the switch that is supposed turn off the fan. Or your switch might be broken. You will need to get it checked out at shop to confirm the suspicion and to get it fixed.

At the lower left hand corner of the radiator you find a thermic switch connected to two electric cables, and plugged into the radiator.

Just remove it and take it to any part dealer, that is the switch that turns radiator fan on and off, and it is defective.

Where is radiator fan switch on 1998 olds intrigue

You have relays for the cooling fans. Did you check applicable fuses and voltage on fuse circuits? Any applicable trouble codes?
Check the coolant temp sensor. Don't replace anything unless your testing points in that direction.
The low speed fan comes on about 223 degrees F, hi speed about 230 degrees f.
If you turn on the ac, the fan/s may run? On some makes and models, if you unplug the coolant temp sensor, the fan/s may run?

My chevrolet uplander radiator cooling motor fan only working, when the A/C is turn on. Any relay or fuse that I need to check?

It would be useful if you had mentioned whether it was a radiator cooling fan motor or a heater/ventilation fan.

It is usual for the cooling fan to switch on with the A/C is on unless the ambient temperature is quite low, otherwise it only operates subject to engine coolant temperature via a thermal switch fitted into the cooling system and/or the engine management system.

The heater fan is either directly switched and faults relatively simple to trace or subject to the whims of the climate control if fitted when a degree in magic is needed along with a box of tricks.

Cooling fan not coming on I can make it come on by turning A/C on the other thing is I can pull the fuse out and the fans come on put fuse back in the fan cuts off please help

Hi Matt ,

In this case if after pulling fuse fan get start it means all the wiring, relay and fan is fine you just need to replace the thermostat/Tempratue sensor sensor, it comes on the radiator.

My saturn ion 2 2003 fan for radiator does not come on. I took it to a machanic he told me i needed to pay $110 dollar first to get a diagnostic check to see where the problem is. I ask him could it just...

My friend if you know anything on mechanics just go into the engine compartment and find the fan on your radiator and follow the wiring and somewhere leads to a connector just unplug it and spray in a contact cleaner and reconnect it.Also find the fan switch either it is fitted on the lower side of the radiator or on the cylinder head near by the thermostat. If you find it Just bridge the connect to see whether the fan starts. If so change the fan switch . or go to the Fuse box and find the fuse which is for the fan and if it is blown change it and follow the engine whilst running to check the temperature and the fan. Hope I help a bit.

Need fuse location for radiator fan for 2011 Audi A5

Hi, Don't be pulling fuses just yet unless the fan is continuing to run. Look at the temp. switch and/or sensor. One of them will be bad. Good luck.

Radiator fan always on, won't turn off unless unplug battery

Either it is hot wired straight from the battery or the fan relay got stuck.

Locate Fan Relay in engine compartment fuse box and try switching it with another one of the same part no. If fan stops, replace Relay.

Coolig fans dont run

the cooling fans are run by a relay it's located in the junction box. check this. there is also a thermoatic sensor located near the fans next to radiator. the fans should free spin when the engine is off this is a good indiacator that it's not the fan themselves. if the relay checks out(run engine and switch the fan relay with the a/c clutch relay when the engine reaches 180 degrees you will feel the upper radiator hose get hot the fans will turn on a short time later iof they don't it's the temp sensor near the radiator if they do it's a bad relay...please rate this thanks
