SOURCE: 2003 volvo s60, how do i adjust headlights

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

2004 volvo s60 headlight adjustment - up or down. How do i do it?

There are two white plastic 'nuts' down under some holes in the black metal slam panel One adjusts the headlight up and down and the other adjusts it sideways.
Turn them very little at a time and gently.

I *think* they were 8mm, so I used an extension and a socket and adjusted them gently that way.

If you look just behind the headlight glass from the top, you will see two holes with 7mm hex head screws. These will adjust your headlights up, down, left and right.

it may need reset at the dealer to accomodate the new style/type of lamp..unless the cars', original factory setting does not allow for that change to be made.. they can tell you either way..

Adjust headlights

the bulbs are pre-set in focus and if fitted correctly in the head light assembly they will be focused and adjusted correctly. Try adjusting the whole head light assembly by the 3 screws / adjusting knobs at the back of the assembly to aim the head lights correctly.

Adjusting bi-xenon headlights on Volvo S40

This guys don't know what they are talking about. If you have self leveling head lights and they are way out of alignment, yes there is adjustment screws but those mess with a different light bulb (daytime running light) instead of the main bulb alignment.

So what is a man to do? go to the dealer and have them adjust them for you. Believe it or not everytime you get an aliment done you have to recalibrate your headlights because they change the way the vehicle sits. Do it enough times and the headlight will go out of wack (because of the self leveling function)

In other words, they headlights are adjusted by means of a Computer. You could do it your self but you have to buy the DICE VIDA adjustment tool and the proper software from Volvo. Not cheap, just go to the dealership.

How do I adjust the headlights on a 01 Volvo s60

on each headlamp assembly, there will be either one or two plastic nuts that you can turn.

If you only have one nut on each, that will adjust the vertical aim of the headlights.

If you have two nuts on each, one will adjust the vertical and the other will adjust the horizontal.

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

Headlight adjustments for 90 Volvo 240 DL - The car just failed safety inspection due to the inspector being unable to adjust the headlights. Any recommendations?

Maybe the adjusters are broken. Was this car ever in a front end collision?
Here in CA, there are shops that are certified to do headlamp inspection/adjustment/repair. This type of work requires specialized tools and they have them. They are regular shops that have become certified by the state to do this type of work.
Try to find one of these types of shops in your area. They can help.

Headlight Adjustment

Good Afternoon. I have a 2004 S60R & had to adjust the headlights recently. The adjustment is easy, but requires a small socket wrench. I forget the exact size of the adjustment bolt, but it's close to 1/4". It's located directly behind each headlight & is fairly easty to reach. Adjust the lights at night on a flat section of road (you'll need a flashlight to see the adjustment bolt when doing this). Hope this helps. David
