2000 Daewoo Leganza heat gets just luke warm!!!

I bought a new thermostat thinking that would heat matter up. Heat still gets just luke warm, not hot enough for these cold northern winters.

Have the same issue with our 2000 Leganza. Blower works fine, but doesn't warm up. Any advice is appreciated.

I have the same problem, bought the car at the Daewoodealer in the summer of 2006 with 6 months guaranty. When winter came the heating didn't warm properly so I went back to the garage and they kept it for a month, they renewed just about everything that could be changed, heatercore, waterpump, thermostat, sensor, but still the problem REMAINS. I only found a solution on the internet wich says that the heatercore pops out of a clip and than somehow blocks airflow, seems like a plausible solution so I went back tot the dealer and handed them the solution. They will contact the Dutch importer to check if this can be a solution. They told me on several occasions that all older Leganza's have this problem, but I don't agree. There must be a solution.
Please let me know if this seems plausible.
    Greetings from Holland,
    Marcel

I have the same problem. we changed the thermastat. the engine coolant was full of muck and looked rusty like something was rusting away.we then back flushed the system including the heater core. It's alot better but we think the water pump propellers are rusting away. this sometimes happens. so we are keeping an eye on the temp to see if it is getting to hot or over heating if so the the water pump needs replacing. I would have the system back flushed to see if that helps you could be having the same problem I' having. Hope this helps.

98 grand cherokee little heat.heater hoses hot top rad warm bottom is cold collant barely luke warm

While it doesn't seem likely, if you've changed, or had the thermostat changed.... I'd say you got a faulty thermostat. I am curious as to what your temperature gauge says the temperature of the engine and coolant is.. If your gauge is showing hot, I can think of two more possibilities... the water pump isn't pumping right... and, if the water pump isn't working right, the problem can be a cracked head or block, which can cause an airlock in the coolant system. Check the coolant or radiator cap.

No interior heat in my 2000 daewoo nubira

3 possible issues here,

the first is that your thermostat is stuck open, when this happens the air will barely be warm, luke warm at best, replacing the thermostat will fix this problem

the second, is that you have low coolant levels, when your coolant levels are way low, your heater core doesn't get the proper amount of coolant (if any) and the system blows cold air instead of heated air.

The third and final possibility, is that your heater core has clogged up (usually happens when stop leak or some type of radiator sealant is used) when this happens you can feel warm air when accelerating (test this by gently reving the vehicle and holding the rpm's when it is in park and holding your hands over the defrost vent to check for heat.

If you can tell me what symptom your vehicle is having I can help with instruction on how to fix it thanks cnc_couple@live.com

did you use pure antifreeze if so remove it all and add a 50/50 mixture because antifreeze will not heat up good if its pure. needs water to allow good heat.

2000 Leganza no heat; heater core is not leaking; blower works

try and see if there is any bleed screws on the water system ie near thermostat housing or top hose sounds like you have an air lock in the water system if the blower is not getting warm

No heat

first make sure the radiator is topped off or full also the overflow is at proper level .. feel the hoses going into the cars firewall to see if they are warm or hot. if cold then the car is not letting hot water into the heater core inside the car . there is a control outside the firewall that might be at fault .

27th Nov 2007, 15:49 To the above comment: You can't have a 2003 Leganza, because Daewoo stopped selling cars in N. America after the 2002 model year.
A non-operating heater could result from a thermostat that is stuck open, keeping the engine from getting up to normal operating temperature; but if that was happening then you would probably have a check engine light on too.
More likely you have either a stuck or broken temperature control for the heater. Temperature controls are either cable-, or vacuum-operated. Find yours in the heater hose somewhere and see whether you can move the linkage on it. If that causes the heater to work, then you have found your problem. If not, then you may have a clogged heater core, which would probably mean replacement (much more expensive than a thermostat replacement, unfortunately).
Btw, your mechanic does not sound too interested in figuring out what the problem is.
