Radio is on no sound same thing horn works with theft button but no at steering wheel

Hi, think you need a visit to a decent auto electrician. These faults might be very specific to your car. If the horn does not work through the horn button but does so at the horn you will have circumvented the fuse in the circuit. Is the fuse blown. Are the contacts damaged.
In regard to the radio, some have two fuses to the rear of them, one for the switch/light/memory section and one for the sutput section. It might be that the output section fuse has blown.
There might, alternatively, be some damage to the wiring near the steering wheel that has affected radio and horn.
I guess I am trying to communicate that diagnosis is difficult so a good auto electrician can save you a lot of time if costing somee money
Good Luck

My radio cd and my horn not working tried changing fuses nothing happening what else can i do

first of all there will be 2 fuses for you cd player 1 in your fuse box and the other 1 in the back of the cd player have you checked them both ? as for your horn if the fuse is okay it could be a bad earth wire or the horn as gone itself best thing to do is strip the horn off and try it via a power pack put a pop rivet on the live and earth handles on power pack and touch the terminals on the horn if it does not blow you know the horn is buggered if it does blow you know it is a bad earth some where along the line. hope info is usefull

No power to RADIO

There should be two fuses - one for the memory and one for the radio power. Check the book and see if there is a second fuse - let me know if you can't find it.

1. my radio just stopped working, it used to go on and off depending on the dots in the road or a big bump but now there is nothing, the fuses are ok too. 2. the horn does not work at all, fuses are ok...

it sounds like the plug in the back of the radio has come loose. remove radio and check connection. as far as the horn PULL THE WIRE FROM THE HORN UNDER THE HOOD THEN RUN A TEST LEAD FROM THE + SIDE OF YOUR BATTERY TO THE HORN IF IT HONKS REPLACE THE HORN RELAY IF NOT REPLACE THE HORN. GOOD LUCK

Havin 04 cavalier problem....

Double check the fuses. Also, there are usually TWO fuses for the radio. One has power when the car switch is OFF. This keeps the clock working and your radio presets set. The other is when you turn the key on. The horn not working can be tested if you have a 12V test light (Wal*Mart sells them...). Unplug the horn, hook up the test light, press the horn button. If the light glows, you've got a bad horn (go to your local junkyard for one). If not, recheck ALL the fuses. Good Luck

I just acquired 2005 toyota avalon limited, I noticed when you switch on the radio(audio) and the CD it plays but there is no volume.  Even the volume and mode control on the steering wheels is equally not...

it being an avalon it is a higher end car. a lot of cars these days have external amplifiers factory installed. I would start checking fuses. it might be an aux power fuse or it might have radio fuse. they generally have two fuses that power them though. one that supplies 12 volts continuously so that all presets remain in memory, and the 12 volt switched power source that tells the radio that the key is on. I know that you said that the radio is functioning properly just no sound but your best bet would be to just start checking fuses. there is a fuse box inside car and also a fuse box under hood. you generally have to remove a small black cover and you will see the outside fuse box. when checking fuses though pay attention to anything that isn't working such as the cigarette lighter or horn, these are sometimes the power supplies to the radio. hope I didnt confuse you but an 05 is kinda too new for you to have a bad radio. more than likely something little just one of those aggrivating little jobs of finding what it is.

My 1992 GTS radio, flashers, trunk light, horn dont work and air bag light on

The horn and the flashers are controlled by the 15 amp HAZ-Horn fuse.
The trunk light is powered by the 20 amp Dome light.
The radio is powered by the above Dome fuse, and the 15 amp Radio & CIG fuse.
With a 12 volt testlight, check for power on BOTH sides of the above fuses. If you have no power to either side of the fuses, you have an open circuit under the hood that feeds said fuses: Look for an open circuit in the main fusible link coming right off of the battery positive terminal to the wiring harness.

1997 sable changed radio and fuses clock and radio still doesn't work whatelse could it be

You need to identify the cable that feeds electricity to the radio when the ignition swicth is in the ON possition, and then identify the stanby power cable ( this is the cable that always has current even with the swicth on OFF possition) The Stanby cable goes to the cable marcked memory on your new radio. the other cable simply goes to the power suply conection on the new radio.
