I have the same problem. Unfortunately 2 different dealerships and 2 audio companies has all said the same thing......it can't be fix. It will cost you around $250 to send it off and get it back then they charge you the labor to get it installed. It's better to just have another one installed and that's what I did.

I have the same problem... I wish there was a reason as to why the CD player breaks after changing a battery! So frustrating!!!

You need to yank out that POS stock system go to car toys or best buy even wal mart get the proper harnesses and a head unit (cd/mp3 player) and install it yourself its extremely easy on a neon and should cost around 70+ depending on the equipment you buy and then crack open that old cd player and get back youre cd's stock systems are overpriced junk worth 10$ in the real world and 200+ in a dealership

CD changer!! I have CD disc's in there and know it wont play them, its says disc error after awhile after I try to play all discs.

If one of the discs slipped off its tray and got jammed, you will have to take the cd changer out of the car and dislodge the jammed cd.
I had this happen a few years back and the guys at the auto parts store helped me remove it for free.

I have a 2001 chrysler town and country. cds got stuck in the 4 cd changer. I took the player out, removed the cds but now cds wont go in all the way and the display reads err. radio works fine, tape...

Sounds like the ejector has become jammed, probably from repeatd failed attempts to eject the stuck cd's.
There isn't much you can do about it, repair on that unit will probably cost more than a better aftermarket replacement

When i try cd it keeps writing error.and reject every cd plates i insert.it was playing normal 2days ago.pls what do i do when error notice appear.the car is honda 2003 model coupe.thanx

Unfortunately 90% of the time when you get error codes from the CD player/changer it means that there is a mechanical failure in the CD player/changer unit itself and it usually requires CD player/changer rebuild or replacement...
First make sure you have entered the correct anti-theft code. If battery power has been disconnected recently than the stereo display will read CODE if the incorrect anti-theft code is entered the display will read ERR1 thru ERR3. If this is the case you'll have to get the correct anti-theft code. Note; If you enter the incorrect code three times the stereo locks up. Disconnect the battery for more than 30 seconds and then retry.
FYI;Never use adhesive labels or protective disc covers on recordable CD's. Recordable CD's are actually thicker than pre-recorded CD's. Automotive players and changers use rollers to draw the disc into the unit. The added thickness of an adhesive label or protective disc cover may cause the disc to jam. Also CD players and changers are exposed to high temperatures inside the vehicle. High temp will cause the labels adhesive to soften which may cause the labels edges to curl or cause it to bubble. Either one may cause the disc to jam. If the player can not be disassembled and have the discs removed successfully than it will have to be replaced. -hope this helps.

HOW DO YOU GET THE CD CHANGER TO PLAY WHEN IT IS READING ERR

I don't think the cd changer mechanism is ok if it reads err continuously or with more than a few cd's.The lens may be dirty, but in many cases it may need a new cd-changer mechanism or another cd-changer altogether.

1999 Ford SE digital display reads ''NO CD'' and changer is stuck

Magazine-type CD changers are prone to jamming with a disc in transit between the magazine and the player. You may have to resort to disassembling the trunk unit to get access to the jam.

This is a common CD changer we see in shop for repair, see www.carstereohelp.com However, before thinking of repair, disconnect one of the main car battery terminals for several minutes then reconnect. This is easier then removing the stereo and reinstalling and acts as a reset for the changer. Otherwise, repair.
