How can I program the door locks on my 2002 Camry so they do not lock when you put the car in gear?

Put the key in the ignition, turn to the on position. Open the driver's door and remove the key (keep door open). Put the key in and out 4 times (in/ out only without any turning of the key) with the key out at the end. Hit drivers side unlock button 5 times. Wait at least ten seconds and shut the driver's door. Away you go. It will stay like this unless you remove the cars battery - if so you will have to do that sequence again. Works for most if not all toyotas

Headlights turn on by themselves when vehicle is parked.

Do you have auto lights when it gets dark out? When they come on is it in a parking garage or home garage where its dark If so chances are your switch/relay unit is bad. (or do they come on in daylight too)?

Toyota 1997 camry door locked cannot open

I had a similar situation. It is due to malfunction of you door assembly. You need to replace it. It is hard to remove the door panel with door locked. I was able to manage it some how by removing pretty much all screws except for the 2 at the fornt side, beside the dash board. But in another instance with my friend I was able to help with a metal hanger. Slide the metal hanger beside to dood glass and try to lift the lach manually to unlock the door right from the door assembly. It worked and then we replace assembly for his car too.
