Question about 1997 GMC Jimmy
No buttons to push to get key out so you park it and key turns to shut engine off but won't release to remove it.
Its a bad ignition switch or harness to the switch. there is a hole right under the key in the plastic. gm put a rubber plug in the hole. it use to be the hole were the key release was in the older jimmys. take a small screw driver and pop the plug out and you will have access right to the key release. or have the switch and harness replaced and fix the problem all together. good luck
