2002 sequioa sudden stall

Ok, replaced battery about 2 months ago. Now check engine light comes on then shuts off and car suddenly stalls. I turned car back on and started fine. Put in drive and care stalled again and battery light came on, and check engine light. I could never get car to move. This happened over and over, but the car starts just fine in park. What the hell is going on?

My Prius 2007 was hit by another car while parked on the front end. Repair work replaced the front hood, fends and side passenger fender and door. Now when I drive it the car honks on its own. Often 2 loud honks and sometimes in quick succession. I took the battery out of the FOB but the honking continued albeit not as frequently. I put the battery back in the FOB and the honking heated up again especially accelerating and when slowing/stopped at lights.

Often when the battery is disconnected or replaced the computer will lose it's learned idle settings. You could try letting the engine idle in park until the engine temperature comes up to normal and leave it like that for a few minutes, then put the Air con on and let it idle again for a few minutes, then switch the air con off and put it into drive. If it does not stall, let it idle in drive for 2 minutes or so, and then do the same with the Air con on. This should relearn the base idle settings and stop it from stalling on you. Before you carry out this procedure you should make sure that when you replaced the battery you didn't remove any other plugs or knocked anything that may be causing the fault. If you try this procedure and it still stall when you select drive, you will need to get a Mechanic to check the vehicle over.

Hope this helps,
Mark.

2002 Lincoln LSE 3.9L 124,000 MI. stalls after a stop or hard braking.

Hi.
This may be a "sticky injector"

This would cause overfuelling - and a sudden rise in RPM. The ECU will see this and compensate - by shutting the injectors down lower - , which then stalls the vehicle.

Worth a try runnig cleaner through them.

Stalling at low speeds for a 2002 Pontiac Aztek

Does the battery light come on before the engine dies, or after ?
After is normal because the engine is not turning the alternator.
Is the check engine light on when the engine is running ?
Common causes for stalling are a dirty throttle body or faulty idle air control valve.

Did you do anything to repair the mas air flow sensor code or did it go out by itself? If you did not replace it or clean it you should get some mass air flow sensor cleaner and clean it out.You can get this at most part stores. If you are getting this code then you need to repair this problem. This will cause the car to loose power and it can be intermittent.Hope this helps.Good luck.Let me know if you have anymore questions.

The problem with your van is the CAM Sensor, I believe the noise you are hearing is kind of a chirping sound. I just had mine fixed (12/19/09) it was about $150 for parts and labor from a local Mech. not a dealer.

Engine stalls, check engine light, not fuel filter.

the white smoke as it stalls could be steam in the exhaust. This is caused by coolant leaking into cylinders from a leaking head gasket. You should check cylinder compression next with a compression tester.
