Question about 1988 Ford Ranger
Bought an 88 ford ranger it was running rich .So i replaced the plugs, wires, cap&rotor o2 also a used map censor. The oil was black and gassy replaced oil&filtor it ran good &quiet until i run it down the road it gets to operating temp. it will miss and the lifters get noisy.
The camshaft may be worn or the lifters .that explains the missing when you run it at operating temp.By the description of the oil. the reasomn the canmshaft wore out and the valve lifters is because the oil was not changed on a regular basis.
